Role
Octus’ Information Security and Technology Organization is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Engineer to join our global IT team. This hands-on role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering a positive user experience. You will be actively involved in resolving technical issues, managing end-user systems, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our IT services.
Key Responsibilities:
End-User Support & Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues escalated engineering when necessary.
- Assist with improving and further automating the setup, configuration, and deployment of end-user devices, including laptops (Windows and macOS), peripherals, and mobile devices.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in our end-user computing environments (Windows and macOS) and implement solutions to enhance stability, performance, and user experience.
- Document all support interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately in our ticketing system (Jira).
- Troubleshoot escalated issues related to Microsoft 365 applications (including InTune and Defender), GSuite, Zoom, and other standard corporate applications.
- Engineer and implement robust and automated solutions for user account and access permission management, ensuring security and minimizing access-related issues.
System Administration & Maintenance:
- Optimize and improve the management and maintenance of end-user computing environments, including desktop and laptop operating systems (Windows and macOS).
- Optimize and improve the deployment and management of software updates and patches.
- Manage and continuously improve our Microsoft InTune environment for Windows PC management.
- Manage and continuously improve our JAMF environment for macOS device management.
- Optimize and improve the management of user accounts and access permissions.
Project & Initiative Support:
- Lead and execute IT projects focused on building more resilient and self-sustaining IT infrastructure.
- Champion the adoption of best practices and innovative technologies to proactively address potential IT challenges.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in IT engineering roles with a strong focus on system automation and infrastructure optimization.
- Deep technical expertise in Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft 365 suite (including InTune and Defender), and GSuite, with a proven ability to automate management tasks.
- Experience with Okta and back-office applications with a focus on streamlining user access and lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of mobile device management concepts and experience in implementing automated MDM workflows.
- Experience with ticketing systems (preferably Jira) with a focus on leveraging data to identify trends and areas for proactive improvement.
- Solid understanding of network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) with an emphasis on designing resilient and easily manageable network configurations.
- Basic understanding of Cisco Meraki networking equipment is a plus.

As a result, compensation may vary within and across similar roles and positions. Please note that the salary range information below is a good faith estimate for this position and actual compensation for any individual may fall outside this range if warranted by the circumstances applicable to that individual. If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed below may reflect that breadth.
The base salary range estimate for this position is $130,000-$150,000.
The actual compensation will be at Octus’ sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for additional commission-based compensation.
