Role
The Quantitative Developer will develop and support various analytic development efforts across the Sky Road platform. The Quantitative Developer will work to improve automated testing, assist with client onboarding and support, and develop, test, and maintain new functionality for portfolio optimization and analytics. Strong analytical and mathematical skills, good communication skills, and motivation to learn new skills are key to this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with client onboarding and support. Work with analytics team members and Project Managers to analyze client data, configure portfolio rules and metrics, and debug optimization and calculation issues.
- Write automated unit and regression tests.
- Implement, test, and maintain new functionality for portfolio optimization and analytics with an emphasis on rigor and numerical accuracy.
- Help to improve and maintain documentation for internal team members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Numerical Science, Machine Learning, or similar field with a strong emphasis on mathematics and data analysis.
- Demonstrated competence in quantitative coursework.
- Experience with an object-oriented programming language such as Python, Java, or C#.
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Numerical Science, Machine Learning or similar field with a strong emphasis on mathematics and data analysis.
- Experience with analytic Python libraries, such as Pandas and Numpy.
- Experience, through coursework or projects, with optimization methods, such as Linear Programming, Mixed-Integer Linear Programming, Convex Programming, Bayesian Optimization (Black Box Optimization) and Genetic Algorithms.
- Familiarity with quantitative finance and credit.
- Familiarity with CPLEX, Gurobi, Lindo, or other industrial strength optimization library
- Experience with core financial data domains including issuers, instruments, industries, ratings, and pricing.

As a result, compensation may vary within and across similar roles and positions. Please note that the salary range information below is a good faith estimate for this position and actual compensation for any individual may fall outside this range if warranted by the circumstances applicable to that individual. If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed below may reflect that breadth.
The base salary range estimate for this position is $80,000-$90,000.
The actual compensation will be at Octus' sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for an annual year-end performance bonus.
