We are hiring a Full Stack Engineer to work on a pivotal Federal program that is making a positive impact on millions of Americans' daily lives.
What you'll be doing:
Engineers are the heart of any technical team, but that is especially true for a team that is all about improving the overall developer experience - no one is better suited to understand engineers than other engineers. The Full Stack Engineer will contribute to the Test User Portal, engage with other VA engineers to understand their needs, and facilitate communication across VA teams on technical matters. Under the Tech Lead's guidance, they will enhance the Test User Portal and implement developer experience improvements, aiming for fewer defects, less toil, increased testing confidence, and greater satisfaction. It is strongly preferred that the Full Stack Engineer will have experience in navigating and establishing governance. Please see below for additional requirements that speak to this expertise.
What you’ll bring:
- 3+ years experience working with a Rails backend
- 3+ years experience with a front end JS framework (preferable React)
- Strong experience with Python
- The ability to develop, implement, maintain, and enforce policies, procedures, standards, and requirements around testing across VA
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for testing-related risks
- Provide training and awareness of testing governance programs
- A solid understanding of API design and how backend systems work
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with sprints and daily stand-ups
- Ability to successfully breakdown technical items in discussions with the business user
- Strong verbal and written communication skills directed at both technical and non-technical audiences
- Capable of taking direction from senior leadership and translating into concrete next steps and actions
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen and able to work domestically
- Must be able to attain low-level security clearance

Compensation:
At Oddball, it’s important each employee is compensated competitively and fairly. In alignment with state legal requirements. A range for the included position is listed below. Be advised, actual offer details are determined by job category, job location, and candidate skill level.
United States Wage Range: $100,000 – $145,000
