Frontend Engineer (React)

We are seeking a Frontend Engineer to join the VA Identity team, supporting the modernization of critical Veteran-facing identity and access management systems. This team is focused on developing and updating core functionality that provides access and management for Veterans across the VA.gov ecosystem. As part of the Identity team, you will collaborate with engineers, designers, and product stakeholders to deliver user-centered digital services that improve authentication and access for millions of Veterans.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and maintain responsive, accessible web interfaces using React, JavaScript, Node.js, and related technologies
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver user-centered solutions
- Write, test, and debug clean, maintainable code in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Support continuous integration, testing, and deployment processes in AWS
What you’ll bring:
- Strong experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred) and building responsive, component-based UIs.
- Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript, including cross-browser compatibility and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with state management tools such as Redux or similar frameworks.
- Experience consuming and integrating with APIs, especially in high-security or large-scale systems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage dependencies, and deliver in complex environments.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:

Compensation:
At Oddball, it’s important each employee is compensated competitively and fairly. In alignment with state legal requirements. A range for the included position is listed below. Be advised, actual offer details are determined by job category, job location, and candidate skill level.
United States Wage Range: $110,000 – $145,000
