About the Job
We are seeking experienced cybersecurity professionals to deliver live, instructor-led training programs that prepare learners for OffSec courses and certifications. This is a contract-based position offered on an as-needed basis, with opportunities to teach both online and in person. Programs may include structured certification prep or hands-on workshops tailored to specific learning goals.
This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about cybersecurity and enthusiastic about sharing their expertise with others. We are looking for individuals who bring energy to the learning environment, communicate clearly, and have the ability to break down complex technical concepts in a practical and accessible way. Prior experience in teaching, mentoring, or training is strongly preferred, as is a genuine interest in helping learners succeed.

Duties and responsibilities
- Deliver live, instructor-led training programs that align with OffSec course content and certification objectives.
- Facilitate hands-on labs, guide technical exercises, and provide real-time support during training programs.
- Clearly explain cybersecurity concepts, tools, and techniques to learners with varying levels of experience.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to support both online and in-person learning formats.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages learner success.
- Collaborate with OffSec staff to ensure consistency, accuracy, and high-quality course delivery.
- Provide feedback on course content and suggest improvements based on learner engagement and classroom experience.
- Represent OffSec with professionalism during training engagements, including potential travel for on-site instruction.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging threats, and evolving cybersecurity practices to maintain subject matter relevance.
- International travel for in-person training engagements as needed.
Qualifications
- Holds the appropriate OffSec certifications relevant to the course being delivered. For example, OSCP+ is required for PEN-200, and OSDA is required for SOC-200.
- Has hands-on experience as a practitioner in the cybersecurity field.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to the field of cybersecurity and a passion for knowledge sharing within the global community.
- Proven ability to design and develop instructional materials, including slides, labs, and technical challenges.
- Skilled in delivering training in both live, in-person settings and remote online environments.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related field, or possesses equivalent practical experience.
- Once selected, you must successfully complete our OffSec Instructor Bootcamp.
Desired Skills
- Three to five years of professional experience in cybersecurity, penetration testing, red team, blue team, or a related area.
- Prior experience teaching, mentoring, or delivering technical training in academic, corporate, or online environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and support learners effectively.
- A collaborative mindset and openness to working with other instructors and staff to improve course delivery.
- Familiarity with OffSec’s training philosophy and learner expectations.
- High level of personal accountability, organization, and attention to detail in preparing and delivering training.
- Track record of strong exam performance, with a score of 80 percent or higher achieved in two or fewer attempts.
Working conditions
This is a contract-based position. Training assignments are scheduled on an as-needed basis and may be delivered either online or in person. International travel may be required for certain engagements.
