Summary

As we continue to grow we need a People Operations Generalist to execute on our vision! People Operations at Office Hours serves to align our business objectives with our most valuable asset — our people. Making sure every cOHworker operates at their highest levels and continually grows into their full potential is key to accomplishing our goals in 2025 and beyond. In this role, you will lead those efforts through employee support, rigorous process-building and system management, and major contributions across employee experience, compensation and policy.

This role is fast-paced and involves managing and supporting a wide range of projects, and requires flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities and a proactive attitude to identify and tackle challenges as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Own employee support. You will build relationships with each employee, ensure policies are clear and important materials are available, and manage complex and sensitive situations in collaboration with leadership.
  • Oversee and operate our payroll, HRIS, and benefits platforms, including regularly updating employee information and generating reporting for key stakeholders and regulators.
  • Run employee onboarding and offboarding, including background checks, I-9s, immigration and visas, compliance training, and hardware and software provisioning in collaboration with the Ops team.
  • Drive continued compliance with internal policies, and identify new or improved policies and standards to meet evolving legal and regulatory requirements and company priorities.
  • Partner with other departments on key strategic areas such as compensation, recruiting, and employee experience.

Qualifications

  • 1-5 years of relevant experience in people related roles.
  • You are passionate about helping people do great work and have great employee experiences.
  • Your interpersonal and communication skills are second to none. You are able to maintain trust, keep strict confidentiality, and demonstrate empathy without compromising principles.
  • You are detail-oriented and organized. You run tight, consistent processes, and shine at documentation.
  • You are resourceful, high-agency and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You are driven by solving problems, and no problem is too big or too small to inspire action.
  • You are intellectually curious, and in all situations you seek to understand root causes and nuance.

Bonus Points

  • Prior experience working at a startup.
  • Prior experience in operational roles, which may include supporting legal, HR, finance, and trust & safety departments.

Pay Transparency Notice:

Full-time offers from Office Hours also include target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

Pay range: $85,000 – $105,000, based on seniority and relevant experience

This is a hybrid role, in our San Francisco office 2-3 times per week.
