About The Role

At Ogilvy Health, ideas don’t live in isolation. They live in systems — moving through channels, culture, communities, and conversations to influence mindsets and drive meaningful behavior change.

We are seeking a Senior Vice President, Engagement Strategist to help architect the engagement ecosystems that bring brand strategy to life — designing connected experiences that guide patients, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders along meaningful mindset and behavior change journeys.

Working within our Integrated Strategy model, this role will partner closely with Brand Strategy, Medical Strategy, and Strategic Intelligence to ensure ideas are built for influence — not just expression. In the context of engagement strategy, influence means shaping how ideas move through earned, owned, and paid ecosystems, working closely with our Public Relations & Social Influence (PRSI) team to ensure ideas are designed for amplification within culture and communities.

The SVP will collaborate extensively with Creative, Account, PRSI, Growth, and media partners to ensure ideas are designed for participation, amplification, and real-world impact. This role will also partner with the Head of Innovation to help translate emerging technologies — including AI-enabled capabilities and WPP Open — into engagement solutions that create meaningful value for our clients.

This role is ideal for a strategist who thinks in systems and understands how engagement architecture connects science, creativity, culture, and technology to influence how people think and act.

What You’ll Do

Engagement Strategy Leadership

  • Lead engagement strategy across key accounts, ensuring ideas are designed to influence audiences across modern healthcare ecosystems.
  • Apply and evolve engagement frameworks that connect brand narrative, medical science, and audience insight into cohesive engagement ecosystems.
  • Partner with senior Integrated Strategy leadership to ensure engagement thinking is embedded early in the strategic process.
  • Contribute to the continued evolution of engagement strategy as media, technology, and audience behaviors change.

Strategic Architecture & Integration

  • Partner closely with Brand Strategy, Medical Strategy, and Strategic Intelligence to translate ideas into meaningful engagement architecture.
  • Design patient and HCP journeys that influence both mindsets and behaviors, supporting unbranded and branded initiatives.
  • Integrate PRSI thinking into engagement ecosystems to support earned-first approaches that amplify ideas through culture and communities.
  • Partner with Creative, Account, PRSI, and Growth teams to ensure engagement strategy shapes how ideas are developed and activated.
  • Translate audience insight, channel dynamics, and scientific complexity into clear engagement architectures.

Client Partnership & Influence

  • Serve as a senior engagement strategy partner to clients, helping guide the development of modern engagement ecosystems.
  • Partner with Account and Creative leadership to ensure engagement thinking is integrated into campaign and platform development.
  • Collaborate with CMI media partners and other media agencies to align engagement strategy with media investment and audience targeting approaches.
  • Support workshops and working sessions focused on audience journeys, engagement ecosystems, and behavior change.

New Business

  • Contribute engagement strategy to new business pitches, developing engagement architectures that bring ideas to life across channels and experiences.
  • Support the development of activation frameworks that translate creative ideas into real-world engagement ecosystems.
  • Help design engagement systems that integrate earned-first thinking with data-informed channel strategy.
  • Partner with cross-functional pitch teams to demonstrate the strength of Ogilvy Health’s integrated strategic model.

Innovation, AI & Engagement Solutions

  • Partner with the Head of Innovation and senior strategy leadership to apply emerging technologies to engagement challenges.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI-enabled platforms such as WPP Open to enhance audience understanding and engagement personalization.
  • Contribute to the development of engagement solutions that integrate data, technology, and strategy.
  • Help pilot new engagement approaches across client engagements.

Media & Data Ecosystem Partnership

  • Collaborate with Strategic Intelligence and CMI media partners to ensure engagement strategy aligns with media planning and audience insights.
  • Support the integration of paid, owned, and earned channel strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen engagement effectiveness through improved channel orchestration and audience targeting.

Talent Leadership & Development

  • Mentor and support engagement strategists, helping strengthen strategic thinking across the team.
  • Contribute to the development of engagement best practices and frameworks.
  • Help foster collaboration across Integrated Strategy disciplines.

 Thought Leadership Contribution

  • Contribute to thought leadership exploring how technology, media, and culture are shaping the future of healthcare engagement.
  • Stay current on emerging engagement platforms, audience behaviors, and digital ecosystems.
  • Share perspectives that help advance engagement thinking within the agency.

What You’ll Need

  • 10+ years of experience in engagement strategy, digital strategy, or omnichannel strategy within healthcare marketing.
  • Significant experience in pharma, HCP, and DTC engagement strategy.
  • Strong expertise in audience journey development and omnichannel engagement planning.
  • Experience collaborating with media, PR, content, and analytics teams.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled marketing tools and modern marketing technology platforms such as WPP Open.
  • Experience contributing to new business pitches.
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear strategic direction.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
