About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and imaginative Junior Copywriter to join our 1UL team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the verbal identity and messaging of social-first campaigns for some of Unilever's most beloved brands. You will be working alongside experienced creatives, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a busy advertising agency environment. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for words, a knack for storytelling, and a desire to create compelling content for social media.

Key Responsibilities:

 Copywriting & Content Creation: Write engaging and persuasive copy for social media posts, captions, scripts, articles, and other digital assets.
 Conceptualization: Contribute to brainstorming sessions and develop creative concepts for social media campaigns, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and objectives.
 Social Modular Content: Develop and adapt copy for various social media platforms and formats, ensuring optimal performance and engagement.
 Social-First Thinking: Develop copy that is inherently social and designed to thrive on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
 Brand Voice Development: Help maintain and evolve the brand voice for various Unilever brands across social media.
 Brief Interpretation: Dissect and decipher client briefs to understand objectives, target audiences, and key messaging.
 Research & Insights: Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging social media platforms to inform copywriting.
 Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the creative team, including art directors, designers, and videographers.
 Feedback & Iteration: Actively listen to feedback and use it to improve copywriting.
 Project Management: Assist in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and budgets are adhered to.
 Trend Monitoring: Stay up-to-date on the latest social media trends, language trends, and platform updates.
 Platform Expertise: Utilize various social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube) to understand their unique writing styles and best practices.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Creative Skills & Experience:

 Strong conceptual skills and a storytelling mindset.
 Experience in copywriting, content writing, or a related field.
 A portfolio showcasing copywriting work (please provide a link to your online portfolio or attach examples to your application).
 Understanding of social media marketing and digital publishing.
 Ability to write in a variety of tones and styles.

General Skills:

 Excellent communication and writing skills (grammar, punctuation, spelling).
 Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 Adaptability and flexibility to work under pressure.
 Attention to detail and a creative eye.
 Time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
 Willingness to learn and adapt to new writing styles and trends.

Industry Knowledge & Passion:

 Passion for Unilever brands.
 Interest in marketing, advertising, and digital storytelling.
 Awareness of creative trends and industry-leading work.
 Passion for pop culture, street art, and internet trends.
 Enthusiasm for staying ahead of the curve in the social media and fashion marketing industry.

Other Potential Requirements:

 Experience writing scripts for video content.
 Experience with SEO copywriting.
 Ability to dissect and decipher client briefs.
 Ability to research and share relevant insights.
 Understanding of different creative mediums.
 Ability to work with tight deadlines and budgets.
 A willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve.

 

Desired Skills and Experiences:.

 Social Modular Experience: Experience creating and adapting copy for different social media platforms and formats.
 Social First Experience: Experience creating copy that is designed to be shared and engaged with on social media.
 Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting is beneficial.
 A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
