Role Summary
The Grid Experience Manager is the operational heartbeat of The Grid, the physical home
of OH.io and the gathering place for 30+ AI companies, founders, operators, students,
partners, investors, and members of Columbus’s emerging innovation movement.

This role ensures that The Grid runs flawlessly day-to-day, delivering a consistent, world-
class experience that matches the ambition of the OH.io ecosystem. From the moment
someone walks in the door, the Grid Experience Manager is responsible for the feeling
they get … the energy, the environment, the execution, and the delight.

If you love orchestrating high-end, high-touch environments and shaping experiences
that leave a lasting impression, this role is the center of gravity for that.

This is an in-person role in Columbus, OH. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Space Operations
    • Oversee all front-of-house and back-of-house operations
    • Ensure the space opens, runs, and closes smoothly every day
    • Manage cleanliness, readiness, supplies, hospitality elements, and the overall vibe
    • Troubleshoot issues quickly — everything from tech setup to building needs
  • Member and Guest Experience 
    • Be the primary point of contact for portfolio company members, founders,
      partners, and guests
    • Welcome and orient visitors to The Grid
    • Maintain a culture of warmth, professionalism, and high-touch hospitality
    • Ensure every interaction feels intentional, supportive, and aligned with our brand
  •  Operational Rhythm of The Grid
    • Build the daily, weekly, and monthly cadence of how The Grid operates
    • Develop simple systems for space management, traffic flow, room bookings,
      supplies, vendor coordination, etc
    • Maintain operational checklists, standards, and experience playbooks
  • Support for Events & Programming
    • Assist with the logistics of events hosted at The Grid — founder dinners, forums,
      workshops, mixers, summits
    • Coordinate space setup, materials, A/V needs, catering, and flow of the event
    • Partner with Eric and the Experience team to execute world-class programming
  • Member Success & Community Touchpoints
    • Help maintain communication with members and ensure their needs are being met
    • Gather feedback and surface opportunities to improve the environment
    • Help onboard new members or visiting founders and ensure they feel welcomed
      and connected

Qualifications

  • You have experience with both facilities management, office management, ideally in a startup environment 
  • You're a hospitality-first operator: You think in terms of service, ambiance, and emotional impact. You understand how space
    can make people feel. You take pride in creating an environment people want to return to
  • You're a calm, efficient problem solver: You don’t get rattled. You anticipate needs before they surface. You fix issues quickly,
    quietly, and with a high level of ownership
  • You're an experience designer at heart: You notice details — lighting, flow, energy, sound, setup, timing — and you know small
    things matter. You want the environment to feel intentional
  • You're a systems builder: You create simple, elegant operational systems that keep a complex space running
    smoothly. You appreciate clarity, repeatability, and organization.
