Role Summary


The Principal on the OH.io ventures team will be an emerging investment professional
responsible for independently sourcing high-potential startups, building and managing
founder relationships, and leading early-stage investment activities. This position is designed
for a seasoned operator with strong critical thinking abilities coupled with a genuine
enthusiasm for proactively sourcing many opportunities and building relationships with
founders. You will serve as a key driver in both deal origination and execution within the
firm’s investment strategy. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Source high-quality startups through networking, data-driven research, participation at
    events, and ecosystem engagement.
  • Build strong relationships with founders and serve as OH.io’s representative in key
    industry settings.
  • Lead deal screening, evaluation, due diligence, and preparation of engagement and
    investment memos.
  • Give cadence to the evaluation process, including coordinating with multiple internal
    and external stakeholders.
  • Present opportunities to the partnership and play a pivotal role in shaping investment
    decisions.
  • Support portfolio companies on growth initiatives, strategy, and follow-on resources.Maintain CRM and deal pipelines, ensuring clear communication and internal process
    hygiene.
  • Travel regularly for events, conferences, and meetings in key startup ecosystems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field (advanced degree preferred but
    not required with relevant experience).
  • 4–8 years of combined VC, growth equity, investment banking, private equity, or operator
    experience, with a history of originating or leading successful investments.
  •  Demonstrated ability to source startups and deliver qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and personal relationship management skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently and represent OH.io externally.
  • Track record of working independently, leading processes from start to finish, and
    managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Domain expertise in enterprise software and AI products, specifically from a go-to-
    market lens, including positioning, pricing, sales motions, and customer success.
  • Background in evaluating and using a range of enterprise software products from a
    customer and buyer perspective.
  •  Experience partnering closely with GTM leaders (sales, marketing, customer success,
    partnerships) at B2B or AI-native companies to drive adoption and revenue growth.
  • Exposure to high-growth companies and strong founders, either as an investor or key
    operator.
  •  Established network across venture capital, founder, and enterprise-specific
    communities.
