About the Position
As the Community Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for managing community partnerships and activities that support the philanthropic goals of the Doernbecher development team, including developing donor relationships and coordinating strategic engagement and stewardship opportunities for assigned programs. You will also provide oversight of assigned community programs and fundraisers and support community volunteers with their fundraising initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing

Provide oversight of established community led fundraising initiatives and partnerships and programs (Friends of Doernbecher, Kids Making Miracles and Kiwanis Doernbecher Children's Cancer Program), including peer-to-peer fundraising activities and third-party fundraisers

In collaboration with development colleagues, explore new opportunities with community partners with an aim to increase philanthropic revenue

Develop and implement strategies for engagement, solicitation and stewardship of community donors and volunteers using a high-touch communication model, including calls, emails, visits and handwritten correspondence

Build relationships with and support community volunteers with the coordination and execution of fundraising initiatives related to assigned programs

Develop and present information about OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and respective programs to interested groups, including community and partner events and tours of the hospital

Collaborate with internal partners to develop program materials, including fundraising tool-kits, impact reports, and campaign and event collateral

Work closely with OHSU Foundation staff to develop and maximize strategies to build and sustain key community relationships
Who You Are

You're a strong project manager with the ability to manage, track and prioritize multiple projects or tasks simultaneously

You’re a relationship-builder with proven ability to collaborate and work professionally, diplomatically and productively with many different constituencies, including colleagues, physicians, academic community, business leaders and volunteers.

You’re solutions-driven with the ability to take initiative and be self-directed; knows when to communicate and ask questions, and works to anticipate the needs of team members and other colleagues
You should have
- Related experience in non-profit or fundraising and development environment
- 3+ years’ experience in program or project management
- Experience working with volunteers

Working Conditions
- Occasional hours outside of normal work hours for donor visits, meetings or programs
- Ability to move boxes and/or materials weighing up to 40 lbs
- Travel required; must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable and consistent access to a vehicle, and appropriate insurance coverage that meets Foundation requirements
Salary (Step I)
$66,164 - $79,397 USD
Pay
Salary is dependent on experience. Each salary band is broken into three "steps," which correspond with an employee’s experience/tenure, proficiency and performance in that specific role. New employees will typically start at step I of our pay band to allow for later growth, although more experienced candidates may be eligible to start at step II or III. The OHSU Foundation has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
