Internal Audit Senior Manager

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Audit Senior Manager to join our internal audit team and help ensure the robustness of our internal controls and risk management practices in this rapidly evolving sector. The ideal candidate will oversee internal audit engagements, ensuring adherence to referenced frameworks and regulatory standards. This role involves working closely with various departments to assess and improve internal controls, risk management and corporate governance associated with a crypto exchange.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and execution of the annual risk-based audit plan.
  • Conduct or lead audit projects in various areas of the company with expertise in one or a combination of the following areas, including AML, compliance, trading, finance, and technology audits.
  • Responsible for holding walkthroughs and other meetings with internal stakeholders to understand business processes, internal controls, and areas of risk.
  • Responsible for mapping processes and confirming design effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Responsible for reviewing documents, executing testing, documenting workpapers and drafting reports.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports that clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and action plans to senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and verify that corrective actions have been taken as planned.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, emerging risks and best practices in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space to ensure audit processes remain relevant and effective.
  • Assist in responding to external auditors/examiners' requests and inquiries, ensuring a smooth and efficient external audit/exam process.
  • Continuously enhance audit methodologies and tools to align with industry best practices.
  • Assist with ad hoc assignments as required
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6-7 years of audit or risk / compliance experience with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role preferably within the cryptocurrency, fintech, financial services or technology sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree; a relevant master's degree or related professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CIA, CISA,CPA) preferred.
  • Experience with cryptocurrency exchange platforms is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency trading, and related regulatory frameworks is a plus.
  • Proven experience in leading audit engagements and delivering high-quality audit reports and recommendations.
  • In-depth knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk assessment and internal audit standards.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with management and stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented mindset and strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, root causes, and propose practical solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using audit and data analysis tools;
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical behavior.
  • Open to change and innovation and ready to embrace a dynamic environment.

The salary range for this position is $127,000 to 159,000.
The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition to the [salary] / [hourly wage], a performance bonus and long-term incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
