Senior/Staff Java Engineer - Web3 Wallet Defi Earn

Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR; Singapore, Singapore

Who We Are

At OKX, we believe that the future will be reshaped by crypto, and ultimately contribute to every individual's freedom.
OKX is a leading crypto exchange, and the developer of OKX Wallet, giving millions access to crypto trading and decentralized crypto applications (dApps). OKX is also a trusted brand by hundreds of large institutions seeking access to crypto markets. We are safe and reliable, backed by our Proof of Reserves.
Across our multiple offices globally, we are united by our core principles: We Before Me, Do the Right Thing, and Get Things Done. These shared values drive our culture, shape our processes, and foster a friendly, rewarding, and diverse environment for every OK-er.

About the Opportunity

We're building the next generation of open platforms at the intersection of Web3 and AI — secure, open, and high-performance products and infrastructure spanning DeFi and the AI Agent ecosystem, designed to bring smarter Web3 experiences to users worldwide.

The team is focused on two core directions:

  • Wallet Earn — A one-stop on-chain aggregated investment platform that lets users easily access leading DeFi protocols such as Aave, Morpho, Pendle, and Pancake, with seamless deposit, redemption, and yield management, continuously lowering the barrier to DeFi participation.
  • AI Agent Marketplace — An open marketplace and infrastructure layer for AI Agents, built around core primitives like Agent, Task, and Order. It enables agents to autonomously accept tasks, complete work, earn rewards, build reputation, and collaborate with other agents to create value.

OKX is part of OKG. Through OKX, OKX Wallet, OKX Pay, and OKLink, OKG delivers leading Web3 infrastructure and digital asset services to users globally.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and continuously optimize the backend architecture of the Wallet Earn on-chain aggregated investment platform.
  • Design and build the aggregated-investment risk control platform, ensuring system stability, fund safety, and business scalability.
  • Continuously improve protocol integration capabilities, raising both new-protocol onboarding efficiency and overall R&D velocity.
  • Contribute to the multi-chain user asset/position platform, supporting asset parsing and display across major public chains and DeFi protocols; expand new protocols and asset types while keeping position data accurate, real-time, and efficient.
  • Contribute to the AI Agent Marketplace core platform, owning the architecture and development of core modules such as Agent, Task, and Order, and explore integration scenarios between AI Agents and Web3.
  • Own stability across core business flows to ensure high availability and high performance; independently diagnose and resolve complex production issues including performance bottlenecks, data consistency, fund safety, and edge-case business scenarios.
  • Continuously improve system architecture, code quality, monitoring/alerting, observability, and exception-compensation capabilities to strengthen reliability, security, and maintainability.

Requirements

  • Solid Java fundamentals with strong command of mainstream frameworks such as Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
  • Hands-on experience with common middleware including MySQL, Redis, MQ, and RPC.
  • Proven experience building high-concurrency, high-availability distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with the design and mechanics of major DeFi protocols (e.g., Aave, Morpho, Pendle, Pancake); understanding of smart contract fundamentals, with on-chain integration or contract development experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with mainstream wallet products and account models, and a working understanding of on-chain assets and the DeFi ecosystem.
  • Strong systems analysis and architecture design skills, ideally from large-scale consumer (To C) products or financial systems; able to independently own core-module design and drive complex projects to high-quality delivery.
  • Ability to independently analyze and resolve complex production issues, with experience in log analysis, distributed tracing, performance tuning, fault recovery, and data-consistency governance.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability, proactively driving problems and projects to resolution.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable in a fast-moving business environment; genuine interest in Web3, DeFi, or AI Agents and a drive to keep exploring frontier technology.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with account models, transaction mechanics, and underlying principles of major public chains such as EVM, Solana, and Tron.
  • On-chain protocol development, smart contract development, or protocol integration experience.
  • Experience building high-concurrency trading systems, core financial systems, or payment systems.
  • Understanding of on-chain risk control, KYT, and AML mechanisms.
  • Platform development experience with AI Agents, LLMs, MCP, Function Calling, A2A (Agent-to-Agent) protocols, or Workflow systems.

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and a long-term incentive plan.
  • Comprehensive insurance coverage for employees and their families.
  • An international team, an open engineering culture, and rich opportunities for technical growth.
  • Deep involvement in frontier Web3 × AI work, building next-generation open infrastructure alongside outstanding engineers.
  • Additional benefits will be detailed later in the hiring process.

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
