What You’ll Get to Do

We are seeking a Vice President of Cost Engineering who is as passionate about developing people as they are about precision and performance.

In this high-impact executive role, you will be both a visionary and a builder, shaping the next generation of project delivery excellence at OBE. You will lead a digital transformation in our estimating and cost engineering functions, driving AI adoption, data automation, and analytical insights that dramatically improve accuracy, speed, and scalability across our business.

You will not just manage; you will inspire, mentor, and innovate.

Executive Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Project Controls and Cost Engineering functions to align with business goals.
  • Improve dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks that bring transparency and accountability across projects.

People-First Leadership

  • Build and mentor a high-performing team with a clear career progression framework.
  • Act as a coach to Directors and Managers, fostering inclusion, engagement, and professional growth.

Innovation and Technology Strategy

  • Spearhead the integration of next-generation digital tools, including AI-driven estimatingmachine learning for predictive cost modeling, and cloud-based BIM.
  • Partner with IT and Operations to design scalable automated workflows and enhance Service Center Next-Gen takeoff capabilities.

Operational Excellence

  • Conduct end-to-end audits of project control processes, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities to streamline estimating, scheduling, and cost-tracking workflows.
  • Establish standardization in quoting, pricing, and risk assessments across Service Centers.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Deliver analytical insights and executive-level reporting on project health, budget accuracy, and resource optimization.
  • Leverage historical data to refine cost-benchmarking models and enhance bid competitiveness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with SalesCustomer ServiceOperations, and Finance teams to ensure cost data informs smarter business decisions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Champion a learning culture that encourages experimentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous development.
  • Measure, monitor, and refine AI models to continuously improve forecasting and accuracy over time.

Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Project Controls, Cost Engineering, Estimating, or Construction Management, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Background in technology, data centers, petrochemical, commercial, architectural, or glazing industries preferred.
  • Proven experience leading technology adoption such as AI/MLautomation, or BIM-based estimating systems.
  • Strong proficiency in data analytics, Excel, and digital workflow tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; advanced credentials (MBA, CPE, PMP, CCP) are desirable but not required.
