What You'll Will Get To Do
The UPS Lead for our Atlanta, Georgia facility will report to the Warehouse Manager. The UPS Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations related to order pulling, packing, and stock management within the UPS shipping area. This role ensures that team members follow safety protocols, meet productivity standards, and maintain quality control. The UPS Lead acts as a liaison between warehouse staff and management, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and accurate order fulfillment.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the activities of UPS Order Pullers, Packers, and Stock Clerks.
- Monitor workflow to ensure timely and accurate pulling, packing, and shipping of orders.
- Train new employees on standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and equipment use.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including the use of safety gloves, shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
- Perform quality checks on packed orders to ensure accuracy and condition of items.
- Assist in resolving inventory discrepancies and coordinate with inventory control as needed.
- Operate forklifts and electric carts when necessary; ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
- Communicate with supervisors and other departments to address issues or improve processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Fill in for team members during absences or high-volume periods.
Required Competencies
- CRL product knowledge preferred, but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in a warehouse or shipping environment.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead by example and foster a team-oriented environment.
- Proficient in basic computer systems and warehouse management software.
Qualification Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in the glazing and architectural aluminum industry
- Proven ability to lead teams in order pulling, packing, and stock handling in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) for tracking orders, managing schedules, and reporting
