The Machine Operator 1 is focused on working with the Maintenance Department with set-up and operation of equipment. May operate different machines to ensure the equipment is working efficiently. This role reports to the Maintenance supervisor.
This role is perfect for an individual who has decision making, continuous improvement and trust and reliability skills. A vital member of the Maintenance Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.
What You’ll Get to Do
- Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.
- Assist with setting-up, starting, adjusting, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and properly shutting. down process equipment as well as removal of any waste from the plant floor.
- Building and grounds housekeeping.
- Perform general preventative maintenance on equipment (i.e. fill lube lines, lube chain rails, grease guns, etc.) as required.
- Maintain logs and reports as required for parts inventory and machine PM compliance.
- Promptly notify the Maintenance Department of any maintenance required.
- May be required to work additional hours including weekends, and/or overtime.
What We Are Looking For.
- Experience in forklift driving, communication skills and well-organized skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to constantly stand/walk, bend at waist, squat at knees, crawl/kneel, reach from torso, reach overhead, grasp, push/pull, carry, lift/lower, stoop/crouch, and balance
- Frequently ascend and descend forklifts
- Exposure to warehouse environment that is not climate controlled.
