What You’ll Get to Do

As a Business Development Design Technician, you’ll collaborate with senior designers and business development leaders to support project pursuits through technical design and modeling. This role blends creativity, precision, and problem-solving to help bring complex building envelope concepts to life.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Develop 2D drafting layouts including elevations, sections, and detailed drawings for business development projects
  • Create basic 3D models to support design visualization and project strategy
  • Partner with senior designers and managers to translate concepts into technical documentation
  • Utilize Autodesk tools (AutoCAD, Revit, and related software) to produce accurate and high-quality drawings
  • Support performance analysis using tools such as LBNL THERM, WINDOW, and Optics
  • Contribute to design solutions for glazing systems and architectural applications
  • Maintain organized project files and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure designs align with project goals and client expectations

What We Are Looking For

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual who enjoys working in a collaborative, technical environment and is eager to grow their career in design and construction.

  • Associate’s degree in CADD, Engineering, Mechanical Design, Architectural Design, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in drafting/design environments; glazing, architectural, or structural detailing experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Autodesk software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
  • Familiarity with LBNL THERM, WINDOW, and Optics is a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of basic engineering or pre-engineering principles
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
  • A growth mindset with a desire to learn and contribute within a team
