Here’s What You’ll Get To Do
This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager and will be overseeing scheduling in fabrication departments. The Scheduler will be responsible for ordering needed materials, expediting orders, releasing jobs, completing cycle counts, maintaining inventory levels, and developing then distributing the shop schedule. The position is considered a developmental role with the expectation that the selected individual will be a key part in assisting the shop supervision and management team.
Here’s What We’re Looking For
- Review, analyze, and evaluate shop schedule to become familiar with schedule, delivery dates, estimated work requirements, staffing, and time needed to complete jobs
- Release and create jobs to prepare for shop schedule
- Develop and distribute daily shop schedules
- Assist in submitting tickets to IT to resolve any administrative equipment, program, server, etc. related issues
- Assist in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inventory cycle counts
- Maintain accurate inventory levels conduct transactions as needed
- Support safety and quality programs as needed
- Support supervision with shop training as needed
- Participate and support all team activities
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
- Able to read, write, and communicate effectively with shop employees, supervision, and upper management
- Must be a team player who is willing to directly assist shop employees as needed
- Must be able to collaborate and work alongside other fabrication departments as needed
- Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
- Experience with EPICOR ERP system preferred
- 2+ years of manufacturing or fabrication experience preferred
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Able to perform job role with minimum management supervision
- Able to operate under pressure, meet strict deadlines, multitask, and effectively prioritize
- Must be able to work 1st shift, with periods of required overtime
- Must have regular and predictable attendance, the ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures as they are an essential function to the position
Duties include, but not limited to
- Printing orders
- Helping with schedule changes
- Checking on the material availability on new orders
- Reporting on the production completion for various departments
- Assist in the answering of problems and changes on existing orders
- Assist as needed for purchase order receiving in computer system.
Physical Requirements
- Sit for extended periods of time 8-10hr days
- Lift, push, pull or move up to 50 lbs. individually or up to 75 lbs. with a partner
- Visual acuity to inspect material for various quality flaws and surface discrepancies
- Properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Able to work in direct temperatures consistent with same outdoor climate conditions of the region (heat, humidity, cold, etc.)
