The Procurement Director implements the procurement strategy for co-manufacturing & ingredients/materials through sourcing and selecting suppliers and negotiating agreements (i.e. contract terms, pricing, SLA, etc.). This role will build and maintain strong working relationships with all external business partners (i.e. 3PL providers, coman partners, co-packing facilities, etc.). The Procurement Director follows up on all procurement activities related to ingredients/materials and will manage all procurement aspects of the new product development process for innovation projects. Further, this role is responsible for sourcing compliance initiatives and adherence to our certification requirements while focusing on identification and implementation of cost improvement projects. The Procurement Director will liaise between internal and external partners to ensure we support medium- to longer-term growth needs in terms of capacity and capability. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the end-to-end management of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process in procurement, collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Responsible for overseeing team executing supplier relationships across all co-manufacturing, repack and raw material providers, meeting service and cost performance targets.
- Oversee hedging process for key materials and other ingredients and ensure recommendations are shared and approved by senior leadership.
- Develop and execute ingredient/materials spend, with a strong focus on cost
- Coordinate procurement aspects of the innovation/renovation process for relevant projects and flow of information for the wider supply chain.
- Analyze and identify cost savings opportunities across supply chain.
- Develop and implement procurement strategy that aligns with the organization’s financial and operational goals.
- Identify/implement new technologies to drive effective and efficient procurement processes.
- Drive supplier diversity, sustainability initiatives, and risk management programs.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performance procurement team.
- Drive organizational change by adopting emerging procurement technologies and methodologies.
- Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement in the procurement process.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 8-12 years of experience in an applicable role within the beverage/CPG
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external contacts (co-packers, 3PL’s).
- Leadership skills and presence that include the ability to drive innovative business improvements, balance short- and long-term priorities, deliver results, import and export good ideas, develop and inspire others, and lead with integrity.
- Demonstrated ability for strategic thinking with a willingness to perform tactical
- Experience managing multiple co-pack/repack partners in the food and beverage industry.
- Proven ability to develop strategic plans and manage implementation and execution, along with an ability to analyze data and identify root causes.
- Must have a collaborative style and an ability to persuade, motivate in all directions within the organization – to sell up, to motivate down, and to cross sell to peers is essential to success.

Reports to: Sr. Director of Operations
Compensation: $145k-$160k base salary + bonus
