Role: Business Director FTC (15 Months)

About the role:
You will be a strong Business Director working as an integral part of the client's business one of the world’s largest global advertisers in our in-house agency – U-Studio. This is an integrated role, involving the development of strategy and oversight across market specific digital design, creative and production. As OLIVER’s business model means that we put bespoke studios on-site, it is important that you respect and understand the complexities around working hand-in-hand with clients on a daily basis. Experience in and a strong passion for championing and producing engaging and business driving creative content and digital advertising across a fully integrated channel mix is a must. As well as having experience working for FMCG clients producing both local and global content. You should be a strong strategic thinker, with an agency background. You will be working closely with the client as a long-term business partner, steering the development of their brand and marketing strategy and building relationships with Brand Director’s and Brand VP’s. This role requires a courteous, positive and high-energy individual with great people skills. Someone who works hard, but has fun with it and who can demonstrate a proven track record of driving teams to deliver for clients. You should have a meticulous attention to detail, establishing yourself as a safe pair of hands, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
What you will be doing:
- Client Service
- Building strong relationships with all clients, from brand execs and managers through to directors and VP’s
- Main point of contact for the client. You will work in partnership with the Editor, driving business and the teams to deliver great work
- Escalation point for the client for any issues with your teams, you will need to be a problem solver that deals with problems with a solution based attitude
- You will be confident with clients and will challenge the client when necessary, whilst keeping a positive relationship. You negotiate to create win-win compromises with your client on behalf of you team members where needed
- You will ensure each team delivers to the expected levels of client service at all times
- Leadership
- Lead each U-Studio team by example, line managing the Content Team Leaders (category leads)
- Developing, coaching and driving Content Team Leads and their teams to constantly add value to our clients and to challenge the briefs we receive, in order to break the norm and deliver outstanding creative work
- You will be responsible for the guidance and development of your team so it is essential you are a great communicator, able to inspire your team and spot potential
- You will have oversight of your teams WIPs and knowledge of projects going through the U-Studio’s, without being pulled into the day to day management of projects. The ability to direct teams to deliver, without getting caught up in the detail
- Growth
- You will actively seek out opportunities with brands and build relationships with senior clients, pushing to upsell our offering
- Operations & Financials
- Follow refined processes for OLIVER and push teams to work to the processes set out, but have the ability to challenge process to ensure teams are working as efficiently and effectively as possible
- Manage the P&L for each team and forecast operational income on a weekly basis to senior management
- You will be open and willing to attend sustainability training relevant to your role and soak up recommended research and reading about sustainability issues
What you need to be great in this role:
- Relevant agency work experience
- Previous experience leading teams of over 15 people – ideal
- Experience working for large FMCG clients is essential
- A strong grounding in the commercial running of accounts, bank and stretch and P&L
- Strong gravitas and the ability to build relationships with senior clients, building trust in our offering
- A team player with a client centric focus and possess the ability to build strong and effective working relationships with your teams and colleagues
- You can be the change - you prioritise environmental responsibility, social equity, and economic viability and how that translates into your day-to-day role
