Role: People Partner - Spain

About the role: 

The People Partner will continually challenge the status quo to ensure that we are the best People team in the business! You will provide a comprehensive, proactive, and efficient HR service by providing information, guidance and coaching to employees and managers across all employment-related matters, in support of the HR and business strategy, working across all brands within the Inside Ideas Group. This role will be a hybrid role, with travel to the Spain office. Working alongside the People Partners, you will support the roll-out of key People initiatives to help deliver the OLIVER HR People strategy. This role will be supporting our onsite teams, varied, fast-paced, and requires someone who can think on their feet, be proactive, agile and hungry to learn and succeed. Some minor travel to other countries may be required. 

What you will be doing: 

The team's activities are varied, and you will need to be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get involved in everything from HR generalist activities and work in partnership with our Centers of Excellence (Talent, People Operations, Reward and Benefits and Learning and Development). The main day-to-day tasks include, but are not limited to: 

  • Be the dedicated regional point of contact for employees and managers across OLIVER Agency within South East Europe, and be responsible for other countries like:  Sweden, Greece & Panama (this list can change) 
  • Support and advise your stakeholders on people issues, ensuring they understand the impact of these on both the individual and the business.
  • Build and maintain an excellent knowledge of employees, objectives, and business processes.
  • Coaching and supporting managers on staffing issues in the areas of performance management, sickness, absence, grievances, probationary reviews, TUPE process and capability of escalating to the Head of EMEA as appropriate.
  • Plan and execute all change management elements of restructuring, redundancy, and cost saving initiatives.
  • Support the annual salary review process and performance management process.
  • Monitor our monthly Peakon employee feedback and work closely with your stakeholders to drive engagement, development, and support.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of Spanish employment law, and other South Europe jurisdictions, to ensure advice given is current and accurate, including leading on the partnership with compliance and legal experts as required.
  • Actively identify gaps, propose, and implement changes to process and procedure to ensure we continually deliver a great employee experience.
  • Support the HR team with any ad-hoc projects or assignments for other countries as well.
  • Ensuring 100% compliance around core HR processes e.g. right to work checks.
  • Work with People Administrators to ensure all staff changes are captured accurately and on time and updated within the HRIS system and payroll process e.g. new joiners/leavers, maternity leave, promotions etc.
  • Interpret metrics and data and draw insights to support line management in making robust people and business decisions.
  • Liaising with Payroll for all new starters, variances, and leavers. 100% accuracy is key.

  • Experience in supporting managers and employees from diverse backgrounds, with the ability to follow through in ambiguous complexity.

  • You are known for your organisational abilities, managing multiple tasks simultaneously and it comes naturally to you. Working on targets and achieving them is a big career motivator for you.
  • You want to join a business which will drive you, but you will have a giggle with some awesome colleagues along the way. Furthermore, you have a sparkling personality & aren’t afraid to show it.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English C1 minimum if not native
  • Previous experience of working as an HR generalist as expert in Spanish market, while experience working across multiple jurisdictions in South Europe is a plus, but not a hard requirement.
  • Experience of dealing with the end-to-end process for employee relations issues such as redundancies, reorganisations, disciplinaries, grievances, change management etc.
  • Proactive in your approach to improving and providing effective and efficient support of all HR activities.
  • Excellent attention to detail whilst under pressure and working with high volumes, with the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • High levels of tenacity & a delivery-focused approach.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations, push back, ask questions and comfortable in environments of change.
  • Highly organised with a natural ability to prioritise.
  • Ability to understand a matrix environment with global teams (i.e. several legal entities/countries within the same team), and able to navigate the complexity.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including country-specific Managing Partners, and the People team Centers of Excellence (Operations, Payroll, Comp & Ben, Global Mobility, DE&I).
  • Aptitude for working in a truly global team, and ensure partnerships are maintained to ensure the delivery of a world-class People Partnering Service.
