Lead Designer (Luxury Brands) 

Location:  Amsterdam, Netherlands

About the role: 

We are looking for a talented and experienced luxury designer, to join our in-house studio at a global leader in the drinks industry, working on their most premium alcohol brands. Reporting to the Global Head of Luxury Experience Design, This pivotal role will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing a wide range of design projects that elevate our brand presence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the luxury market, a sophisticated aesthetic, and a proven ability to translate brand narratives and codes into compelling visual and experiential solutions. 

You will be instrumental in crafting impactful invites, engaging tasting kits, memorable gifting elements, captivating window displays, innovative pop-up concepts, and immersive brand experiences. This role demands a hands-on approach, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage projects from initial concept through to final production. 

What you will be doing:

  • Work as part of a team that supports global and regional clients in creating and delivering outstanding creative materials, that drive our brands reputation and deliver business results 
  • Ensure high quality, coherent brand execution across every touch point through design structure and templates 
  • Conceptualize and design a diverse range of branded materials, including:  
    • High-end invitations (digital and physical) 
    • Bespoke tasting kits and packaging 
    • Luxurious gifting elements and packaging solutions 
    • Visually stunning window displays 
    • Engaging and innovative pop-up shop designs 
    • Immersive and memorable brand experiences and events 
  • Create detailed artwork in vector format using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator). 
  • Develop high-quality 3D renders (e.g., using Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar) to visualize concepts and prototypes. 
  • Produce precise construction drawings and technical specifications for the execution of designs. 
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (markets, Commercial, Expereince, Culture) and external agencies to ensure design feasibility and brand consistency. 
  • Present design concepts and rationale effectively to stakeholders. 
  • Stay abreast of current design trends, particularly within the luxury sector, and proactively propose innovative solutions. 
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints. 
  • Utilize basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance design workflows and explore new creative possibilities (a plus). 

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional design experience, either in house for a luxury brand or within a reputable design agency specialising in luxury 
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of projects within the luxury sector, specifically highlighting experience in the areas mentioned above (invites, tasting kits, gifting, windows, pop-ups, brand experiences). 
  • Expert proficiency in vector-based design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator). 
  • Proven ability to create high-quality 3D renders using industry-standard software. 
  • Demonstrated experience in producing accurate and detailed construction drawings. 
  • A sophisticated understanding of luxury aesthetics, materials, and production processes. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. 
  • Based in the Netherlands and fluent in English (Dutch language skills are a plus). 
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of AI tools and their potential application in design is advantageous.
