Role:  Program Manager

About the role: 

Combining business vision and first-class planning to successfully translate the strategic vision into reality. Leading & inspiring project managers to ensure delivery to a high standard and to agreed scope, budget and timeframe, meeting (or exceeding) customer expectations. As Programme Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the Ford programme runs smoothly and be the primary escalation point for project managers and client services. 

You will have line management responsibility in which you will help to mentor and nurture individuals, so they are able to learn and flourish as individuals. You will work closely with the Operations Director to ensure that we continue to focus on improvements and implement suitable guidelines, as well as ensuring documentation remains relevant. 

 

What you will be doing: 

  • Be critical to building the team over the coming year by being a leading example across the business 
  • Work with project managers to ensure allocation of resource to successfully deliver projects 
  • Potentially take a lead on any major projects, liaising with the Operations Director, Senior Account Director and client to ensure a smooth flow of information and project success 
  • Supervising project managers, settings standards, conducting reviews and transferring knowledge  
  • Produce regular reports covering but not limited to project status, significant risks and Issues, measured KPIs 
  • Oversight of resource scheduling and utilisation ensuring efficiencies by a streamlined approach 
  • Work with Client Services and Operations Director to ensure we’re able to accurately forecast pipeline planning of resources across the account 
  • Be an escalation point for project managers, working with them to resolve issues when possible 
  • Ensuring all critical risks are tracked and monitored on a regular basis 
  • Offer frequent feedback to SMT on overall team status and performance 
  • Support in any recruitment needed to grow the team 
  • Working within a growing team over 2022 so ensuring new recruits are onboarded and managed into the business efficiently and effectively 

 

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • A desire to define new ways of working, streamlining processes, focus on optimisation and technologies to deliver efficiencies 
  • Projects are delivered to schedule, risks and issues managed effectively to minimise any impact 
  • A strong communicator both with internal teams and the client 
  • Results driven and oriented  
  • An analytical approach, with a thirst for transformation and not just replication  
  • Excellent project management and planning skillsets  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools 
  • 5+ years of a senior project management role or above
