Role:  Global Business Director

Location: Central London, (3 days a week from our London offices)

Position Overview: 

An accomplished agency client leader is sought to direct a Global AI Programme. As Business Director, you will lead the strategic execution of this transformational global initiative while nurturing senior client relationships and ensuring financial performance. This position requires a leader who can balance client partnership, programme governance, commercial acumen, and the operational understanding needed to identify opportunities and deliver seamlessly globally. 

The Role: 

Reporting to the Global Managing Director, you'll join the Senior Leadership Team with direct accountability for a Global Account leveraging AI at its heart. This strategic position requires a commercially astute client leader who can: 

  • Lead the Global Programme end-to-end, from strategic planning through to implementation and evolution 
  • Partner with senior global leadership and C-suite clients to align objectives with business priorities 
  • Nurture and develop key client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on the client's business 
  • Understand delivery capabilities with AI, enabling you to identify growth opportunities and optimise value 
  • Drive integration of specialist capabilities and Gen AI solutions across the global network 
  • Lead cross-functional governance through Central Hub structures, establishing standards for AI implementation, creative excellence, and collaborative frameworks 
  • Ensure programme and financial performance while balancing global consistency with market needs 

Key Responsibilities: 

Programme Leadership: 

  • Own the strategic roadmap and execution of the programme 
  • Establish governance, KPIs, and success metrics aligned to business outcomes 
  • Lead cross-functional teams across multiple geographies 
  • Manage risks, dependencies, and escalation protocols 
  • Drive continuous innovation within the framework 
  • Report performance and insights to senior leadership 

Client Relationship Management: 

  • Interface with C-suite leadership and senior global clients managing portfolios of £10M+ 
  • Build and maintain trusted advisory relationships with CMO-level stakeholders 
  • Understand evolving client needs and translate them into deliverables 
  • Monitor client satisfaction and proactively address concerns 
  • Facilitate alignment between client expectations and capabilities 
  • Identify opportunities to expand scope and value within existing client relationships 
  • Champion client success stories and account impact 

Financial & Commercial Acumen: 

  • Maintain financial accountability for performance and profitability 
  • Understand pricing models, resource costs, and margin implications 
  • Identify commercial opportunities within the existing body of work 
  • Develop business cases for account expansion or evolution 
  • Analyze financial data to inform strategic decisions 
  • Balance investment in innovation with commercial sustainability 

Strategic Oversight of Delivery: 

  • Maintain operational understanding of how work is delivered across markets 
  • Partner with operational leads to ensure quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction 
  • Identify opportunities for capability enhancement or process improvement 
  • Understand delivery across creative and digital channels including: 
  • Online and offline creative design 
  • Integrated campaigns 
  • Social media strategy 
  • E-commerce services 
  • Influencer marketing 
  • POSM (Point of Sale Materials) 
  • Marketing technology and AI solutions 
  • Facilitate integration between market leads and specialist group companies 
  • Champion implementation of market-leading Gen AI solutions 

Team Leadership: 

  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture across global teams 
  • Lead teams through transformation and change initiatives 
  • Promote knowledge sharing and best practice adoption across the network 
  • Contribute to global strategic initiatives beyond the scope 

Required Experience: 

  • 10+ years in senior client services and programme management 
  • Proven track record leading complex, multi-market accounts or managing large-scale client relationships 
  • FMCG or consumer goods industry experience partnering with global senior stakeholders 
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage P&L or programme budgets 
  • Experience implementing AI or emerging technology solutions at scale 
  • Understanding of creative and digital production across multiple channels 
  • Background in integrated marketing and agency/in-house creative environments 
  • Proficiency with agency tools, business intelligence platforms, and presentation software
