Role: Social & Influence Director

Location: London, United Kingdom - 6 month FTC

About the role:

Sitting on the client Global Leadership Team, you'll define how one of the world's most iconic brands shows up on social — and lead the multi-market team that delivers it. You'll oversee social media managers, creator leads, and senior social experts across markets, building capability, setting standards, and driving a programme that is native to platform, culture, and audience. As the senior social adviser to the client's global team, you'll translate platform expertise into confident, clear strategic direction.

What you will be doing:

Social Platform Leadership

  • Define global social frameworks, standards, and best practice across client Social Studios
  • Identify platform opportunities, cultural moments, and emerging formats — and translate them into clear strategic action
  • Act as the studio's social authority, championing platform-native thinking across creative and content output

Creator & Influencer Strategy

  • Own the client's end-to-end creator and influence programme — from strategy design through to delivery
  • Evolve the programme in line with audience behaviour, platform developments, and brand values
  • Oversee creator managers and a large UGC network, maintaining creative quality, brand alignment, and scalable delivery
  • Coordinate creator activity across markets and ensure consistent use of the Creator Bench

Team Leadership & Capability

  • Lead and develop a global, multi-disciplinary team of social media managers, creator managers, and senior social experts
  • Set clear objectives and build a culture of curiosity, craft, and continuous improvement
  • Coach talent at all levels; create visible pathways for professional growth

Client Partnership

  • Serve as the primary social-craft partner to senior client stakeholders globally
  • Translate platform expertise and audience insight into strategic counsel, platform reviews, and brand presentations
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, operating credibly at global marketing director level and above

Content & Campaign Planning

  • Put social insight, audience behaviour, and platform understanding at the centre of content and campaign planning
  • Set community management standards that consistently reflect the client's voice, values, and purpose

Commercial & Budget Accountability

  • Oversee studio-level and creator programme budgets; present financial performance to client and OLIVER senior stakeholders
  • Drive cost-effective delivery across a multi-market creator ecosystem — balancing quality, scale, and commercial health
  • Accountable for the financial health of the social and creator discipline within the studio

What you need to be great in this role:

  • Proven leadership of social media at scale — across multiple markets, within a large brand, in-house studio, or agency environment
  • Deep expertise across major and emerging social platforms, with a strong, current read on the evolving landscape
  • Track record of building and managing large creator ecosystems and influencer programmes, end to end
  • Senior client leadership skills — the credibility and clarity to advise at global marketing director level and above
  • Operational rigour: the ability to bring structure and clarity to complex, multi-market programmes
  • Experience managing and developing multi-disciplinary social teams across geographies
  • Experience overseeing annual content or studio budgets and presenting financial performance to senior internal and client stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage creator or production spend at scale — balancing quality, efficiency, and commercial accountability
  • Strategic integration of Gen AI tools across studio operations — including ideation, social listening, trend detection, creator sourcing, and community workflows
  • Experience setting AI governance frameworks, quality standards, and brand-safety guardrails at studio level
  • Agentic approach to complex, multi-market challenges: systematic, outcome-focused, and adaptable under ambiguity
  • Drives AI literacy and best practice across teams; articulates AI's role clearly to clients and senior stakeholders
  • Strong critical judgement: evaluates AI-generated output for cultural nuance, brand fit, and the moments when human craft must lead
