JOB TITLE:  Graphic Designer (English / Japanese speaking)

LOCATION: Japan Tokyo

 

ROLE MISSION

The Graphic Designer will need to be responsible for overseeing design projects from concept to delivery, designing graphic content, illustrations and infographics. They have expertise in graphic design, layout techniques and marketing execution. They will need to ensure brand consistency through work and be collaborative liaising with teams and ensuring deadlines are met.

Managing and producing initial design concepts through to full artwork stage for a wide variety of on and offline materials. They will be working with a wide range of different creative and brand guidelines, producing design and artwork to the client’s brief and exacting standards. They will need to proactively manage projects within agreed timescales taking into account quality, accuracy and consistency. An important part of role is QA’ing of work in line with brand guidelines on all assets, assisting on brand and performance projects.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

  • Crafting graphic content, illustrations, and infographics
  • Propose improvement to templatization and efficiencies of work
  • Ensuring old and new brand guideline consistency throughout their work is crucial, and collaboration with the entire creative team is essential to meet deadlines
  • The role involves creating initial design concepts in line with approved guidelines for print and selected channels
  • Proactive project management within agreed-upon timelines is a key aspect, considering factors such as quality, accuracy, and consistency and print deadlines
  • An integral part of the responsibilities includes quality assurance (QA) of work in alignment with brand guidelines across all assets, as well as providing support on brand and performance projects
  • Responsible for end file distribution and print production ordering

You will work on a variety of different projects from:

  • Creating assets for cultural partners including print and digital collateral
  • Social Content
  • Adaptations
  • Digital content
  • OOH and print ads both for the client and the client’s cultural partners
  • Product and campaign assets
  • Re-purpose and adapt existing brand toolkits to creative engaging fresh content
  • Brand development and toolkit work

 

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL 

  • Experience working with or personal passion for arts and culture design projects
  • Print experience
  • Ability to switch between print and social best practice
  • Video design experience is a plus
  • A portfolio demonstrating your ideas through to execution
  • You'll have a deep affinity with layout, typography and ideas-generation
  • Proficiency in Adobe CC suite applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch and associated prototyping
  • A team player and possess the ability to build strong and effective working relationships
