Role:  Lead, Master Brand Social – YouTube India (via Oliver)

Location:  Bangalore, India

 

About the role: 

YouTube is a cultural heartbeat in India—a platform where millions come to learn, connect, and be inspired. We are looking for a visionary lead to join the YouTube India social team through our staffing partner, Oliver. In this high-impact people management role, you will spearhead the YouTube master brand social workstreams, shaping how one of the world’s most significant brands resonates in a dynamic and growing market such as India 

As the Lead for YouTube Brand & Social in India, you will be the strategic architect of YouTube’s personality across social platforms in India. You are as obsessed with audience trends as you are with brand storytelling. You will lead "always-on" content, major campaigns, and social-first activations designed to drive brand awareness, love, preference, and meaningful conversation.

 

What you will be doing: 

  • Strategic Leadership & Brand Growth: Lead the strategy, planning, agency briefing, and execution of YouTube India’s brand & social projects. You will ensure all social-first activations drive measurable brand relevance and deep community engagement across all leading platforms.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Act as a strategic partner to Marketing and Business teams, ensuring social is prioritized in cross-functional forums. You will represent the YT social strategy with a professional, strategic lens, impacting business goals while ensuring high-quality social output.
  • People & Agency Management: Manage and mentor a team of two, fostering a culture of best-in-class execution and meticulous attention to detail. You will oversee agency partners, ensuring they adhere to operational excellence processes and deliver on-brief, on-time results.
  • Influencer & Content Expertise: Leverage an in-depth understanding of the Indian social and influencer landscape. You will oversee production and influencer management workflows, ensuring content is culturally relevant and aligns with brand goals.
  • Critical Thinking & Optimization: Evaluate campaign performance and apply learnings from past activations to influence future strategies. You will form data-driven points of view to navigate ambiguity and continuously improve the team's output.
  • Brand Safety & Operational Excellence: Maintain rigorous standards for brand safety and ensure all team activities and agency outputs align with internal compliance and operational excellence standards.

 

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • Experience: 9–14 years of professional experience in social media marketing, brand management, or creative agency roles, with a focus on digital and content marketing.
  • Social Mastery: Complete immersion in the Indian social media and influencer landscape, with a proven track record of delivering best-in-class content and campaigns.
  • Leadership Presence: Demonstrated success in people management and the ability to influence cross-functional partners in a fast-paced environment.
  • Production Savvy: Deep understanding of the inner workings of social media production and influencer management in the Indian market.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional strategic thinking and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex social strategies to diverse stakeholders.
  • Brand Advocacy: A passion for the YouTube ecosystem (users, creators, and advertisers) and a commitment to being a constant advocate for our community.
  • Passion for and inquisitive about AI and new technologies  
  • Understanding and knowledge of AI tools is beneficial, but ability to learn and digest benefits and features of AI tools is critical
