Role: Senior UX/UI Designer

Location: Toronto, ON

The Role: 

OLIVER is seeking a highly experienced Senior UX/UI Designer with strong product design expertise to join a fast-growing, high-profile account for a Fortune 500 financial services client. This relatively new global account has already seen growth and is continuing to expand. In this role, you will combine expert-level UX and product design thinking with deep visual design skills. You’ll collaborate closely with UX designers, developers, content strategists and content authors, contributing throughout the end-to-end design process—from discovery and conceptualization through execution and delivery. A strong understanding of user-centered design, brand systems, and digital product development is essential. Reporting to the UX Manager and working in partnership with stakeholders, you’ll lead the creation of intuitive, engaging digital experiences across a range of platforms. This includes internal tools, customer-facing applications, and content-rich sites. You’ll play a critical role in developing site architecture, wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity UI designs, always advocating for the user while aligning with business objectives.

What you will be doing: 

This globally dedicated team is comprised of project managers, creative and digital designers, developers, content strategists, copy editors, and video producers. The team also partners closely with teams in Mexico, the UK, Tokyo and Mumbai.

  • Lead the end-to-end UX/UI design process across multiple digital products, from strategy, research and ideation to wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and developer hand-off.
  • Create user-centered design solutions that deliver an intuitive, accessible user experience across web and mobile platforms.
  • Develop and maintain design systems and component libraries in Figma to create new products and maintain consistency across existing platforms.
  • Expertise in design tools, particularly Figma, and design system technology, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of design tokens, theming, and UI components
  • Conduct and analyze usability testing to gather insights on user behavior, validate design decisions, and iterate on design solutions based on user feedback.
  • Partner with the Digital Team Lead to take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable
  • Design end-to-end flows and experiences that are simple and elegant for our supported platforms
  • Craft designs within existing visual systems and/or standards that leverage platform capabilities
  • Present work to stakeholders and clients, understanding feedback to continually improve the quality of our products through multiple iterations exploring a range of design options
  • Work with visual designers, content strategists and developers as well as project managers in Jira to ensure projects are executed on time and on budget

What you need to be great in this role:

  • 5-7 years of experience designing digital products at a consumer-facing product company with significant focus on creating mobile experiences and working with mobile OS's
  • A solid understanding of core design principles, responsive design, interaction design, product design, typography, color, and page layout
  • A demonstrated experience with UX/UI design and strategic thinking and clearly articulate and recommend solutions for content/IA refinement and across mobile interfaces
  • Ability to adapt your designs across mobile platforms with the understanding of opportunities, limitations, and form factors preferred
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.
  • Deep experience with user journeys, wire framing, prototyping/animation techniques, and working closely with engineering resources
  • Knowledge in usability testing methods and the ability to turn findings into actionable design improvements.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
  • Ability to work closely with developers and basic understanding of dev and content authoring tools such as Adobe Experience Manager.
  • A proactive attitude and strong time management skills delivering to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable articulating design decisions and presenting ideas, solutions, and demos of the application to various business units and Stakeholders
  • At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from CAD $97,750.00 to CAD $109,250.00. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. The range listed is just one component of OLIVER’s total compensation package.
