About the role:
You'll be the creative strategist behind performance marketing campaigns that convert sophisticated business audiences into loyal subscribers and event attendees. Working at the intersection of premium journalism and AI-enhanced creativity, you'll build automated creative systems that respect editorial standards while driving measurable growth. We're looking for someone who can architect AI-first creative solutions that scale across subscription acquisition, retention campaigns, and event marketing. Success means establishing creative processes that deliver consistent performance while fostering seamless collaboration between OLIVER and the client.
What you will be doing:
- Lead AI-first creative strategy using Pencil and advanced Gen AI tools to automate design systems and scale production
- Partner with Dow Jones' Brand Studio to create one integrated creative function with unified standards and workflows
- Architect automated creative systems that generate personalized assets for subscription acquisition, retention, and event marketing
- Guide performance marketing creative that drives measurable subscription growth and engagement across digital channels
- Establish AI-enhanced design systems that maintain editorial credibility while optimizing for conversion and retention
- Build creative processes that seamlessly integrate OLIVER capabilities with client Brand Studio expertise
- Develop automated creative testing frameworks that continuously optimize performance across subscription funnels
- Lead strategic creative concepting for major subscription campaigns and high-profile events
- Mentor creative teams in AI-first methodologies while fostering collaboration across both organizations
- Present creative strategy and performance insights to senior client leadership with clear ROI demonstration
- Drive innovation in automated creative production that sets new industry standards for media marketing
- Ensure all creative output maintains premium brand standards while maximizing subscription and event conversion
What you need to be great in this role:
- A portfolio demonstrating creative leadership in performance marketing, particularly for subscription-based media, publishing, or premium services
- Strategic expertise in AI-first creative approaches with proven ability to architect automated design systems at scale
- Leadership skills that build unified team cultures across organizational boundaries and integrate diverse creative capabilities
- Deep experience in subscription marketing creative, including acquisition funnels, retention campaigns, and lifecycle optimization
- Proven track record creating performance marketing campaigns for sophisticated B2B audiences and premium consumer segments
- Expertise in event marketing creative across digital, experiential, and integrated campaign touchpoints
- Advanced presentation and stakeholder management skills for senior executive audiences and cross-functional collaboration
- Strategic thinking that connects creative innovation to subscription growth, retention metrics, and revenue outcomes
- Experience building creative processes that balance automation efficiency with editorial integrity and brand standards
- Expert-level proficiency with Pencil and advanced Gen AI creative tools (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Runway, automated design systems)
- AI-first strategic mindset: architect creative solutions that leverage automation to scale personalization and performance optimization
- Proven experience building AI-enhanced creative systems that automate design production while maintaining quality control
- Advanced understanding of AI capabilities in creative automation, with strategic approach to tool integration and workflow optimization
- Ability to establish AI governance frameworks and train teams in responsible, effective AI-first creative methodologies
- Demonstrated success integrating AI tools into performance marketing workflows with measurable impact on conversion and efficiency
- Thought leadership in AI-enhanced creative production with ability to drive industry innovation and best practice development
- Formal degrees are welcome but not required. Equivalent experience counts. Experience can be gained through work, study, volunteering, or self-directed learning.
- 10+ years of creative leadership experience with 5+ years in performance marketing and subscription-focused campaigns
- Proven track record in AI-enhanced creative production and automated design systems
- Experience leading creative teams in media, publishing, or premium subscription businesses
- At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from $170,000.00 to $190,000.00. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. The range listed is just one component of OLIVER’s total compensation package.
