Role:  Copywriter

Location:  Toronto, Ontario (Remote)

 

About the role: 

You'll be the voice behind marketing communications that translate client's premium journalism into compelling audience touchpoints. Working at the intersection of editorial writing and marketing effectiveness, you'll create copy that engages business professionals and investors while respecting journalistic standards. We're looking for someone who can balance persuasive marketing copy with the credibility expected by the client audiences, writing content that drives measurable results while maintaining editorial integrity. Success means creating marketing communications that strengthen subscriber relationships while supporting business growth.  

 What you will be doing: 

  • Write tier 2 and tier 3 marketing copy across email, social, display, print, and digital channels 
  • Create compelling copy that aligns with the client's editorial voice and premium brand positioning 
  • Develop messaging frameworks and copy templates that enable efficient production while maintaining quality 
  • Collaborate with designers and creative directors to create integrated marketing campaigns 
  • Ensure copy consistency across marketing touchpoints while adapting messaging for different channels and audiences 
  • Write marketing communications that translate complex financial topics into accessible, engaging content 
  • Support brand voice development and maintain messaging standards across all marketing materials 
  • Work with account teams to transform client requirements into compelling copy that drives business results 
  • Contribute to creative concepting and campaign development with strategic copywriting expertise 

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • A portfolio demonstrating copywriting excellence in marketing communications, preferably for premium or financial services brands 
  • Writing skills that create compelling copy while maintaining editorial credibility and professional standards 
  • Proven ability to work efficiently in production environments while maintaining quality and brand consistency 
  • Experience writing for multiple channels including digital, social, email, and print marketing 
  • Collaboration skills that work effectively with designers, creative directors, and account teams 
  • A talent for translating complex business information into clear, engaging marketing communications 
  • The ability to balance persuasive marketing copy with the credibility standards expected by sophisticated audiences 
  • Understanding of subscription marketing, financial media, or B2B communications 
  • 3-6 years of copywriting experience with proven success in marketing communications 
  • At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from CAD $80,750.00 to CAD $90,250.00. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. The range listed is just one component of OLIVER’s total compensation package.
