Role: Senior Social Media Manager 

Location: New York, United States 

 

THE ROLE 

You'll be the person closest to Dove's social channels, responsible for what goes out, when, and why. From always-on content and campaign activations to reactive cultural moments and creator collaborations, you'll lead the planning, publishing, and community management that keeps Dove's social presence consistent, culturally relevant, and growing. 

We're looking for someone who lives and breathes social, who understands what makes audiences stop scrolling and start engaging, and who can translate Dove's distinctive brand voice into content that feels native to every platform. Success means a social presence that audiences actively seek out and engage with, a content calendar that balances planned and reactive work seamlessly, and performance data that shows consistent growth in reach, engagement, and brand affinity. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

Content and Channel Management 

  • Lead Dove's organic social media management across TikTok , Instagram and emerging platforms, setting and maintaining a high standard for content quality, community management and brand consistency 
  • Plan and manage social content calendars, balancing always-on publishing with campaign activations, cultural moments, and reactive opportunities 
  • Coordinate the production of social content with the creative team and content creators, ensuring work is on-brand, platform-optimised, and delivered on time 
  • Write and review social copy, ensuring tone of voice is compelling, authentic to Dove, and tailored to each platform's conventions 
  • Monitor social channels and cultural conversations for opportunities to inject Dove's voice into relevant moments, using social listening tools and cultural awareness to act quickly 

Community and Engagement 

  • Build and grow Dove's social communities, fostering genuine connection with audiences through proactive engagement, conversation, and community management 
  • Identify opportunities to surprise, delight, and add value for Dove's audiences through creative activations, partnerships, and real-time engagement 
  • Track trending topics, hashtags, and cultural events, assessing relevance and briefing the team on opportunities worth pursuing 

Strategy and Performance 

  • Develop and refine Input into Dove's organic social strategy, using a data-led approach to optimise content, formats, and publishing cadence for reach and engagement 
  • Analyse social performance metrics and deliver regular reporting to the studio and Dove brand team, identifying trends, insights, and areas for improvement 
  • Use performance data and audience insight to continuously refine the content approach, testing new formats, topics, and creative treatments 
  • Advise the Dove brand team and wider studio on social best practices, platform updates, algorithm changes, and emerging trends 

Client and Stakeholder Partnership 

  • Be a day-to-day point of contact for the Dove brand team on social media activity, presenting content plans, ideas, and performance updates with clarity and confidence 
  • Represent the studio during creative briefings for campaigns, product launches, and seasonal initiatives, ensuring social is considered from the outset 
  • Take briefs from the client and translate them clearly for the creative and production teams 
  • Develop clear, engaging presentations for client stakeholders 

Team Leadership 

  • Work closely with content creator on developing stand-out social content ideas and assets Work with the influencer manager to integrate owned and creator content streams and identify creator and advocacy opportunities relevant to Dove's social strategy 

 

WHAT YOU BRING 

  • 5+ years of experience in social media management, with a strong focus on organic social for consumer brands, ideally in beauty, personal care, wellness, or FMCG 
  • Deep platform fluency across TikTok, Instagram, and emerging social channels, including an understanding of algorithms, content formats, audience behaviours, and best practices 
  • A track record of growing and engaging social communities, with examples of content or campaigns that drove measurable results 
  • Experience planning and managing social content calendars across multiple platforms and workstreams, balancing proactive and reactive content at pace 
  • Strong editorial judgement and copywriting skills, with the ability to adapt brand voice for different platforms and audiences 
  • Experience coordinating with content creators, influencer partners, and creative teams to deliver social content on time and on brief 
  • Confidence presenting to and partnering with brand clients, with clear, structured communication skills 
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using social analytics, listening tools, and reporting to inform strategy and demonstrate impact 
  • Experience line managing or mentoring team members, with an inclusive, supportive approach to leadership 
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple workstreams without losing sight of quality 
  • A genuine interest in social culture, digital trends, and the evolving landscape of beauty and personal care online 
  • Professional proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus 

Gen AI and Agentic Thinking: 

  • Working proficiency with Gen AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copy.ai, Grammarly) to support content ideation, copywriting, trend research, and reporting 
  • Agentic mindset: ability to identify opportunities, prioritise effectively, and find efficient solutions across a busy, multi-platform workload 
  • Experience using AI tools to enhance social workflows, such as drafting copy variations, summarising performance data, or accelerating content planning 
  • Understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, with a commitment to human oversight, brand accuracy, and authentic audience engagement 
  • Ability to evaluate where AI adds genuine value to social management and where human creativity, cultural nuance, and community instinct are essential 
  • At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from $123,250.00 USD to $137,750.00 USD. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. The range listed is just one component of OLIVER’s total compensation package.
