As part of the Health & Wellbeing Collective, we are building an operational platform to support companies in the Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements (VMS) space called the VMS Co-Op. The VMS Co-Op will host OLLY and SmartyPants and will grow to include other VMS companies and future acquisitions as well.

The VMS Co-Op works in an agile and entrepreneurial way, collaboratively within the team and with our Health & Wellbeing colleagues. We work together to look at the big picture strategically as well as roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty. THE ROLE: SENIOR DIRECTOR OF SALES - TARGET

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales – Target & Drug, this person will serve as a key leader of our team and will be an important face of the WBC brands to the customer. Growth strategy, long-range planning, team leadership and coaching will be key skills for this role. We are seeking commitment to building a positive culture, collaboration and alignment across the organization. The WBC brands under this leader will include SmartyPants, Onnit, Welly, and OLLY.  This role will manage a team overseeing sales and analytics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead Target Sales team across all sales efforts at Target to maximize growth while being willing to roll your sleeves up and contribute to enhancing process and ways of working
  • Play a leadership role within annual JBP collaboration and drive strategic customer relationships with key senior leaders at Target + across our operating companies to ensure a true partnership spirit
  • Develop and manage strategic planning of annual business at Target, providing critical customer input into development of operating company go-to-market strategies
  • Build and enhance process, customer insights, data utilization, and implement best practices
  • Drive collaboration with key decision makers in brand, marketing and supply chain to establish goals and drive profitable growth to deliver Annual Operating Plan for the WBC and for broader Unilever
  • Develop a Target strategy that supports growth, responds to dynamic market environments, and builds into the overall corporate strategic plan
  • Think long term, drive a consumer and customer-oriented vision, and bring your team and cross-functional partners along in the journey to deliver a long-term vision with financial acumen
  • Articulate the WBC’s unique positioning to deliver overall growth and look around corners to drive the long-term, strategic vision as partners to Target in their category transformation
  • Be an ambassador of our team values (Be Yourself, Be Disruptive, Be Passionate, Be Supportive)
  • Recruit, develop and inspire the team and contribute to the culture to make life at the WBC better for all of us

CAPABILITIES + SKILLS REQUIRED

  • 10-15 years of experience in CPG Sales and/or Retail Merchant/Buyer experience with a proven track record of success working with multiple top tier retailers (5+ years Target experience preferred)
  • Proven ability to build & lead a high-performing sales team with 5+ years of people leadership experience
  • Deep P&L and Trade Budget knowledge and ownership experience
  • An inclusive leader with strong communication skills, a passion for team development and a high degree of comfort in giving and receiving constructive feedback
  • Proficiency in utilizing syndicated databases, Microsoft Suite tools, and Power BI (IRI, Nielsen, Numerator)​
  • Experience in customer-specific portals for Target (Vendor IQ, TCN, Helix, etc.)
  • Proven ability to build customer relationships and develop a high level of trust
  • Aptitude to drive eCommerce sales & a digital customer experience
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, tenacity, dependability, integrity, and innovative sensibility
  • A true “Team Player” with an ability to influence cross-functionally and build capabilities for the entire company
  • Personally and professionally motivated to deliver results and get things done
  • Strong negotiation skills in “getting to yes” with retail partners

THE DETAILS

LOCATION: Remote (Minneapolis, MN preferred)

HOURS: full time, exempt (salaried)

MANAGER:  Vice President of Sales – Target & Drug

The base salary for this role is $156,880.00 -$235,320.00 based on experience and location.
