THE ROLE: DESIGN MANAGER - GROWTH

The Design Manager, Growth is responsible for driving the execution and optimization of OLLY's highest-volume creative channels, supporting the Growth organization through exceptional design craft, motion expertise, and scalable creative systems. Reporting to the Sr. Art Direction Manager, Growth, this role serves as a key contributor to the development of performance-focused content across Paid Media, Omni, Amazon, Experiential, and retail Commerce ecosystems.

As a creative leader and subject matter expert in motion, video post-production, and performance marketing best practices, you will help translate Growth strategies into highly effective creative assets while building processes and systems that improve efficiency, consistency, and business impact. You will partner closely with Marketing, Brand, E-Commerce, Creative Operations, agency partners, and production vendors to bring campaigns and evergreen content to life at scale.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Growth Channel Execution

  • Lead creative execution across Growth-owned channels including Paid Media, Omni, Amazon, and acquisition-focused experiential initiatives.
  • Develop compelling creative solutions that support acquisition, conversion, engagement, and retail performance objectives.

Motion, Production & Content Development

  • Serve as the team's primary subject matter expert for motion design, video editing, and post-production workflows.
  • Partner with internal teams, creators, agencies, and production vendors to deliver high-performing content across a wide range of digital and retail channels.
  • Help evolve OLLY's motion design standards, production capabilities, and scalable content creation frameworks.
  • Support the execution of photoshoots, creator and UGC content, CGI initiatives, and production work streams from pre-production through final delivery.

Technology & Innovation

  • Partner with Growth leadership to implement and scale AI-enabled creative workflows that improve efficiency, creative quality, and speed-to-market.
  • Evaluate, pressure test, and refine emerging creative technologies through real-world application across performance marketing, commerce, and production channels.
  • Document learnings, best practices, and use cases to support the Growth team andbroader Creative organization.

Collaboration & Cross-functional Development

  • Foster strong collaboration across Creative, Marketing, Brand, E-Commerce, CreativeOperations, and agency teams.
  • Help build channel expertise, encourage knowledge sharing, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through peer-to-peer feedback with associate designers, freelancers, and external partners

Operational Excellence

  • Partner with Creative Operations and Growth leadership to manage priorities, timelines, and resource allocation across multiple work streams.
  • Support workload balancing and project planning to ensure on-time, on-brief delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, streamline production processes, and increase team efficiency.
  • Leverage agency partners, automation, and scalable systems to maximize creative output while maintaining OLLY's creative standards.

You are a highly skilled designer and creative problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment where performance, innovation, and execution intersect. You combine strong design craft with deep motion and production expertise and enjoy building systems that help creative teams work smarter and scale effectively.

You are equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to execute work and stepping back to identify opportunities for improvement. You enjoy collaborating across functions, mentoring others, and finding solutions that balance creative excellence with business goals. You bring a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a desire to continuously improve both the work and the way the team operates.

CAPABILITIES + SKILLS REQUIRED

  • 3-8+ years of experience in design, art direction, motion design, content production, or related creative disciplines.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating best-in-class creative execution across digital, performance, social, eCommerce, video, and retail channels.
  • Deep expertise in motion design, video editing, and post-production workflows.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Figma, and related creative tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business priorities, performance insights, and brief objectives into effective creative solutions.
  • Experience leading projects and guiding designers, freelancers, vendors, or agency partners.
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing creative principles and digital content ecosystems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate creative rationale and recommendations.
  • Proven ability to manage priorities, solve problems, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Marketing, Media, E-Commerce, Production, and Operations teams.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to creative excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Passion for emerging technology, creative innovation, AI-enabled workflows, and evolving content creation practices.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE INTERVIEW PROCESS

  • Initial video screen with a member of our Talent team
  • Round 1: Conversation with the Hiring Manager + 1-2 conversations with other Ollies on the team
  • Round 2: 2-3 conversations with team or cross functional Ollies
  • Final Round: Homework*

*At OLLY, our final round is called Homework. Candidates who participate in this round are given 3 questions in advance to answer and present to the interview panel they previously spoke with in the process. LOCATION: Remote, USA - 4X travel per year to company offsites 

HOURS: Full time, exempt (salary)
