Job Description
The associate technician role is an intermediate-level position that performs standard techniques and procedures and applies knowledge of established methods, practices, and programs to prepare engineering and design plans. This position works closely with technical staff to find the best approach to solve engineering and design needs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with standard computer-aided design operations including, but not limited to, advanced plan production, plan sheet creation, and entry-level design principles under moderate direction and supervision.
- Receives instruction on project objectives, advanced features, and possible solutions.
- Obtains assistance on unusual problems and has work reviewed.
- Performs engineering support tasks such as gathering data, updating and maintaining computer files, preparing copies of drawings, and documenting design changes.
- May be required to work in all types of terrain and weather conditions and on project sites in various stages of construction.

You bring to the team:
- Associate degree in a related field preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience in appropriate software
- Hands-on experience using MicroStation for drafting, design, and modeling in engineering, architecture, or related fields.
- Adept in verbal and written communication.
- Has solid interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Has working knowledge in applicable technologies.
- Has a general understanding of how the firm operates as a consulting business and how this role contributes to the success of the organization.
- Has a valid driver’s license and a good driving history.
- Has a willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Represents Olsson in a professional manner at all times.
