Job Description
As a Professional Engineer on our Telecom Team, you will play a key role in engineering projects related to broadband network deployments. You will develop plans, specifications, and engineering estimates and perform design reviews to ensure constructability for underground and aerial fiber infrastructure. Is technically involved in the resolution of design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project. Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and review aerial and underground fiber optics networks (Long haul, FTTx, and HFC)
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
- Develop plans and specifications for contract preparation and administration.
- Assist with project management tasks (review contracts, develop scope of work, schedule and fees, perform pre-bid meetings and bid openings, pre-construction meetings)
- Review and approve Make Ready Analysis for aerial fiber plant
- Develop and review fiber optic splice diagrams
- Understanding of fiber optic cable systems (buffer tubes and strand allocations)
- Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
- Familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS, Visio, and AutoCAD software
- Familiarity with GPON systems, distributed split and centralized split architectures

You bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline of engineering recognized by ABET for licensure as a Professional Engineer. (Required).
- Minimum 5 years engineering experience in broadband projects, with an emphasis in Fiber to the Home (FTTH), Fiber Optical Distribution Networks, or five years in Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering field with a strong familiarity in broadband networks.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License (Required).
