Job Description
Olsson is seeking an intermediate or senior level individual to join our Construction Materials Testing (CMT) team. Our CMT Lab is essential for ensuring the quality and durability of materials used in construction projects. In our lab, various materials like concrete, soil, and asphalt are tested to verify their strength, composition, and performance standards. By providing accurate and reliable test results, the lab helps ensure that our clients' projects meet safety and regulatory requirements, contributing to the overall integrity and longevity of their construction efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine laboratory testing of construction materials, including concrete, soil, and asphalt
- Meticulously prepare specimens for testing, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards
- Uphold high standards of quality control under the guidance of senior technical staff
- Maintain precise records of testing procedures and results
- Operate laboratory equipment efficiently and safely
- Actively engage in ongoing training for skill enhancement and professional development
- Independently lead and execute a diverse range of laboratory testing activities
- Coordinate the efforts of less experienced technicians, providing guidance and support as needed
- Collaborate with the laboratory manager, project engineers, and managers to oversee and ensure the completion of laboratory testing while meeting project deadlines

Qualifications

You bring to the team:
- Strong communication skills

- Adept in verbal and written communication
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associates degree from a technical or four-year school preferred, but not required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction materials and/or geotechnical laboratory testing
- At least 6 years of relevant experience is required for senior-level candidates
- Certifications from reputable industry groups such as KDOT, MoDOT, ACI, or NICET are highly desirable, but not required
- Valid driver's license with a good driving history
- The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
