Job Description
Olsson’s Facility Engineering and Design Team delivers innovative, high-quality engineering solutions across a range of sectors, including healthcare, data centers, commercial developments, education, laboratories, and military installations. Our services include engineering analysis, design, and professional consulting for some of the most complex and impactful projects in our communities.
We’re looking for a Group Leader to lead and grow our Structural Engineering group. This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career—a leadership role that blends technical expertise, client engagement, and team development.
In this role, you’ll oversee project execution, foster lasting client relationships, and mentor a talented team. You’ll guide the delivery of thoughtful structural solutions across high-impact projects, while contributing to the continued growth of our structural practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations of the Structural Engineering group, setting performance goals that align with team and firmwide objectives.
- Supervise a growing structural group that spans multiple offices/states.
- Oversee project delivery, including schedule, budget, quality, and technical execution.
- Foster and grow relationships with existing and potential clients through excellent service and proactive communication.
- Support strategic growth of the structural practice, including business development, client strategy, and proposal efforts.
- Provide mentorship, professional development, and performance feedback for group members.
- Monitor group performance, including utilization, workload distribution, and staffing needs.

You bring to the team:

- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 8+ years of structural engineering experience, including at least 4 years leading or mentoring technical staff.
- Experience managing client relationships and contributing to business development efforts.
- Strong understanding of structural design practices, building codes, and project delivery.
