Job Description
We are seeking a Design Associate to join our Power Delivery team, where you’ll support the design and drafting of transmission and distribution projects for utility clients. You’ll use your expertise to create construction drawings, design models, and detailed plans using software such as PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, or MicroStation.
This role is ideal for an experienced designer with a strong background in utility drafting and a desire to work on high-impact energy infrastructure projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop detailed transmission line layouts, profiles, and structure drawings.
- Use PLS-CADD and other CAD platforms to support engineering teams.
- Ensure accuracy and quality in construction documentation and deliverables.
- Contribute to design coordination, quality control, and standard development.
- Review project specifications and apply drafting best practices.
- Mentor junior drafting staff as needed.

- Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field (preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in utility design and drafting.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or PLS-CADD.
- Ability to work independently and mentor less experienced team members.
- Familiarity with transmission and distribution project workflows.

Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, skills, education, and internal equity.
Colorado Pay Range
$80,000 - $114,000 USD
