As a Lead Engineer, you will be the technical cornerstone for helping build the Power Generation Design group. You will be involved in team development, client relationships, and project execution. This role is ideal for a highly experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, building teams, business development, and leading project design teams across a variety of power generation projects.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the key technical resource for the Power Generation Design team.
- Responsible for establishing engineering standards, defining project execution strategies, and mentoring team members for Power Generation facilities.
- Lead conceptual design through detailed design efforts for:
- Power Plant Site Planning
- Generator Systems
- MV/LV Distribution
- Balance of Plant (BOP) Electrical and Mechanical Design
- Process Automation & Control
- Comfortable with “blank paper” starting points and guiding clients and project design teams through the full design and construction process.
- Establish design templates, checklists, and QA/QC standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, etc.) to deliver integrated solutions.
- Serve as the Technical Authority in client meetings and design reviews.
Qualifications

You bring to the team:
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including experience as a Lead Engineer, Owner’s Engineer, or Technical Principal
- At least 4 years of experience supervising, mentoring, and/or leading technical personnel
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical work while supporting multiple projects simultaneously
- A strong understanding of power systems, generation interconnection, and high-voltage infrastructure
- Experience collaborating within multi-disciplinary design team environments
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license
Ideally, you also have:
- 10+ years of experience in power generation, utility, or related industrial power design projects
- Experience with one or more of the following: Combined Cycle, Simple Cycle, RICE, Steam, BESS, and/or Microgrids
- A builder’s mindset and a passion for working in environments that value autonomy and initiative

The typical annual salary range for this role is as listed below. Compensation may vary based on geographic location, experience, and qualifications. Employees in this role may be eligible for our performance‑based bonus and merit increases.
National Pay Range
$118,000 - $243,000 USD
