Job Description
As a Senior Engineer on our Railroad Bridge team, you will play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of railroad bridge and structural projects. You will work closely with project managers, technical leaders, and clients to develop practical engineering solutions while providing technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers. This position offers the opportunity to lead technical design efforts, contribute to project success, and help deliver high-quality solutions that meet client needs and project objectives.
Primary Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the structural analysis and design of railroad bridges and related structures for a variety of transportation projects.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers and engineering staff.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and practical design solutions.
- Support project planning efforts by assisting with scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination.
- Conduct quality control reviews and ensure compliance with applicable design standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Collaborate directly with clients, contractors, railroads, and regulatory agencies throughout project development and delivery.
- Assist with business development activities, including proposal preparation, client relationship management, and identifying opportunities for future work.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design files, calculations, correspondence, and technical deliverables.

You bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience supporting railroad bridge and structure design projects.
- Strong knowledge of railroad bridge design principles, structural analysis, and industry standards.
- Experience leading technical design efforts and coordinating project deliverables.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license required.
- Experience with MicroStation, RISA 3D, and Bluebeam Revu.
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving history.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as required.
