Sr. Engineering Manager / Engineering Director (Logistics, AI, Software Development) - San Francisco (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

Lead by example - Loop is an in-person-first culture. We expect you to work 4+ days/week in person in our SF office.

Hiring multiplier - Source, close, and onboard top talent; improve funnel metrics. Hire 5+ engineers in SF in the next 6 months.

Develop talent - Lead a team of 5‑10 engineers today, scaling to 15+ (incl. 1-2 junior EM) in 12 months. Coach, unblock, and conduct promo/performance cycles.

Own the roadmap - Partner with Product on roadmaps; break ambiguous business outcomes into scoped, resourced projects.

Drive and accelerate - Own and iterate the end-to-end product delivery process. Further accelerate velocity as the team scales.
Qualifications:

8 + yrs total software experience, 3 + yrs as a people‑manager.

Built and coached teams that shipped customer-facing B2B SaaS on a public cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure).

Track record delivering 0 → 1 product features and scaling them to thousands of users.

Fluency in TypeScript / Go / Python; comfortable reviewing architecture and PRs.

Data‑informed: you’ve run retros with DORA, engagement, and quality metrics.

Strong written & verbal communication; adept at explaining trade‑offs to execs and ICs alike.

Work Experience:
- Have managed teams for 3-5 years
- Experience at high-growth companies with reputable engineering culture.
- Built and coached teams that shipped customer-facing B2B SaaS on a public cloud
- Experience with AI native EPD (engineering, product, design) organizations
- Experience managing managers
Hard Skills:
- Fluency in TypeScript / Go / Python; comfortable reviewing architecture and PRs.

- Data-informed: experience running retros with DORA, engagement, and quality metrics.
Soft Skills:

- Salary: $200k - $300k
- Equity: Competitive
