Working at a media agency 

Simply put, a media agency takes a client’s messaging for their brand and looks at how best to strategically communicate it to the consumer, taking into account people’s habits and behaviours (when and what they watch, read, listen to, how they buy products etc.). A media agency will typically have many departments that cover each specialist area within this process, all working together to deliver commercially successful, outstanding campaigns for the client.

Role overview 

The ideal candidate will be passionate about gaining digital media experience focused on delivering programmatic campaigns across demand side platforms (DSPs) such as DV360, Amazon Audience Platform and The Trade Desk. Focusing on helping them deliver best-in-class integrated strategies and campaigns for their clients. As this is an entry level role, no experience or prior knowledge is necessary, just a passion for learning and a great attitude. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Daily monitoring, optimisation & set up within a range of DSPs/buying platforms following all relevant quality assurance processes 

  • Optimisation and coordination of campaigns and accounts to ensure pacing and performance 
  • Brand Safety & Viewability awareness to ensure ads are run in the right environments, championing our market leading approach in this area 
  • Gaining an understanding of DSP technology 
  • Active participation in weekly and monthly department meetings 
  • Assisting with programmatic planning (Brand & DR), building rationales to demonstrate the role of programmatic in meeting client goals 
  • Assisting with the use of digital planning tools (e.g. Integral Ad Science, DV360, Trade Desk, OMG proprietary tools) to support Client/Client team requests 
  • Working with our with key tech vendors and publishers

Our team in Newcastle will bring an entirely new perspective to the work we do, adding value to clients by contributing across every stage of campaign planning, activation and optimisation. Not only will you work alongside specialists in every media channel as well as areas such as data, technology and ecommerce, you’ll also be working across all our agency brands in the network, giving you exposure to some of the biggest brands locally and globally. Anyone who joins our team over the next few years will get the benefit of being a founding member of this new community; building something completely from scratch and accelerating your career as our business rapidly expands in the region. All with the support of over 1,800 colleagues in our London and Manchester offices.

Flexible Working

We have a hybrid working model (three days in the office, two working remotely), to ensure that we meet the needs of both our people and our business, balancing the benefits of in-person connections with the flexibility of remote working.  Our standard working hours are 9:30 – 17:30, but we offer the ability to flex around core hours of 10:30 – 16:30 to give our people flexibility on how they manage their working day, whether that’s in the office or working remotely. For example, you could start work at 8:30 and finish at 16:30 or start at 10:30 and finish at 18:30.
