
Account Director
About the Role:
Fuse is looking for a highly confident and experienced Account Director to join & a dynamic team working on European-based football partnerships for two of our biggest clients. This role sits within the Rights Consultancy division.
You’ll be expected to be a trusted advisor to our clients. Experience of working with a variety of rights owners is a must. You will be accountable for the successful management and execution of all client deliverables on our scope of work, whilst also, where possible, growing the account via extended scopes of work and/or upselling new services within Fuse.
You will be responsible for senior stakeholder management with clients, interpreting client briefs and mobilising client teams, leading on the activation of partnership assets, and managing the relationships with four rights holders. Client projects and campaigns are varied, including purpose-led activations, digital content, events/hospitality, experiential and colleague engagement.
Within your role, you will need a strong understanding of client business objectives, Fuse’s proposition and the broader sport and entertainment industry, which will set-up you up to deliver with excellence whilst growing your respective pieces of business.
Main day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Delivery of existing and upcoming client projects, with an overarching strategic approach to activating sponsorships in line with wider brand and sponsorship strategy
- Building and maintaining close relationships with senior clients and agency stakeholders alike, as key Fuse representative across the interagency set up (including media agencies)
- Initiating the set up of multi-faceted integrated partnership campaigns from a standing start, as well as adapting existing activation plans to fit business needs
- A strong operational understanding of how to build effective and efficient ways of working, innovating processes and leading implementation by junior members and managing upwards to account GADs where necessary
- Acting as the main day-to-day point of contact for clients
- Navigating complex team and workstream issues with knowledge and authority, with an astute understanding of how and when to escalate to GAD level
- Demonstrate Fuse core values (trusted, collaborative, committed and restless) and instil this through the wider team
- Growing incremental revenue from existing clients and supporting new business
- Ensure the team is maintaining the smooth running of the account through status meetings, reporting, project troubleshooting, etc.
- Stakeholder liaison (rights holders, supplier partners and other client agencies)
- Management and oversight of talent relationships to support the partnerships – including management of contractual appearances, approvals, logistics, and briefings
- Regular reporting to key clients/ stakeholders
- Manages a team, giving regular performance feedback, motivating them, and supporting their growth
- Lead and contribute to agency-wide initiatives and lead by example
- Input into broader partnership work where relevant
- This role may include on-site support at events and some weekend work
Desired Skills & Experience
- Has strong experience in the partnership marketing/communications industry with experience working across Sport or Entertainment
- A strong understanding of both the sponsorship and sport landscape, including how partnerships and brand experiences work within the broader marketing mix
- Must have some experience of working with and activating high profile partnerships – ideally with specific experience of having worked on UEFA properties and with associated entities
- Experience of leading a team, managing people and the ability to facilitate career growth in others
- Ability to demonstrate relationships with senior clients and internal stakeholders
- Strong presentation skills
- Experience in developing and leading strategic responses for clients, including working closely with other agency partners
- Excellent project management and attention to detail, able to own projects from start to finish
- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong financial acumen (Responsibility of significant budgets and scope/revenue reporting)
You need to have the ability & willingness to work flexibly, usually in the London office, with occasional international travel, on-site at events and some weekend work.
This is a full-time role & you must be eligible to work in the UK.
