Sales Representative

Miami, Florida

When safety systems fail, the consequences can be serious. At Omni Data, our job is to make sure they never do.

At Omni Data, we combine technology, expertise, and service to solve our clients' toughest challenges with care and commitment. Our design-build approach means we're your single point of accountability, handling everything from consultation and custom design to installation and ongoing 24/7 support. We protect your people, data, and property so you can focus on your job with total peace of mind.

Omni Data is a trusted systems integrator delivering comprehensive physical security, life safety, and IT infrastructure solutions across Connecticut, Florida, and beyond. Serving 500+ clients in industries ranging from K-12 education and government to hospitality and enterprise, we are your long-term partner, not just another vendor. Operating as part of the RapidSOS family of companies, Omni Data helps communities and organizations enhance safety, security, and operational resilience when it matters most.

What this role is about:
Omni Data is growing its sales team, and this role sits at the center of that effort. As a Sales representative covering Southeast Florida, you'll be responsible for building relationships with the contractors, facility managers, property owners, and municipalities who depend on integrated life safety and security systems to protect the people in their care.

You'll own the full arc of each engagement from understanding a client's needs and developing a tailored proposal, to coordinating with engineering and project management to make sure every installation is delivered well. This isn't a role where the work ends at the contract. You'll stay close to your clients, understand their evolving challenges, and build the kind of trust that leads to long-term partnerships.

What we design and install isn't just infrastructure, it's what helps people feel safer, faster, when it matters most, and that's what you'll be part of building.

What you’ll do:

  • Hunt and develop new business - prospect contractors, facility managers, property owners, municipalities, and commercial clients across your territory
  • Own the full sales cycle - from initial discovery and site walk through proposal, negotiation, and close
  • Manage projects through delivery - serve as the client’s primary point of contact from signed contract to final installation, coordinating with engineering, project management, and field teams
  • Write and present proposals - develop scopes of work, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and pricing for fire alarm, camera, access control, and network infrastructure projects
  • Build long-term relationships - grow recurring revenue through service contracts, system expansions, and referrals
  • Stay current on codes (NFPA 72, IBC), technology trends, and competitive alternatives to position Omni Data’s solutions effectively

What we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • 3–5+ years of outside sales experience in life safety, fire alarm, physical security, or building systems
  • Proven ability to close complex, multi-trade projects, not just transactional product sales
  • Comfort reading and interpreting proposals, scopes of work, and basic system drawings
  • Strong project management instincts, detail-oriented, relentless follow-through, ability to keep deals moving
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage a pipeline independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and CRM tools

Nice-to-have experience (but not required):

  • NICET certification (Fire Alarm) or equivalent life safety credential
  • Experience selling Honeywell, Simplex, Notifier, EST, or similar fire/life safety brands
  • Familiarity with physical security solutions — cameras (Axis, Avigilon, Reolink), access control, VMS
  • Experience with networking/infrastructure solutions (Fortinet, HPE, Ruckus)
  • Existing relationships with GCs, electrical contractors, AHJs, or facility directors in CT or FL
  • Experience managing the full installation lifecycle alongside a technical team
  • PSA (Physical Security) or ESA certification
  • Experience with monitoring and alarm verification services
  • Familiarity with E-Rate or government procurement

What we offer:

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Coverage - Omni Data covers 80% of employee health, dental, and vision insurance premiums
  • Company-Paid Life Insurance - $50,000 life insurance policy provided at no cost to you
  • Short & Long-Term Disability - Company-paid disability coverage to protect your income when life happens
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) - Pre-tax savings for eligible healthcare and dependent care expenses
  • 401(k) with Company Contribution - 3% company contribution after one year of service
  • PTO - 15 days of accrued sick and personal time, earned based on hours worked
  • Professional Development Bonuses - Earn additional compensation for completing industry certifications and training programs

Starting pay for a successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include experience, relevant skills, training, education, location, business needs, or market demands. The salary range for this role is $65,000-$85,000, with a potential OTE of $120,000- $175,000.

Omni Data is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, or Veteran status.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
