About the Role:

Account Managers are the driving force behind our project delivery and responsible for the wellbeing of entire client accounts, or large parts of a major account. This includes managing a large portfolio of projects, ensuring that they are delivered on schedule, within budget and to the required specifications.

Account Managers ensure that a complete brief is taken for all projects, and that all details are communicated to relevant stakeholders (both internally and externally), driving the day-to-day management of projects to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Communication

  • Ensure clarity in all written and verbal communications, including the ability to adapt tone and approach to suit the situation; e.g. client communication vs internal communication
  • Take the lead on day-to-day client communication, including preparing call agendas, leading status calls and writing contact reports for internal and external distribution

Project Delivery

  • Collaborate with senior team members and departments to manage project resources, ensuring adherence to SOPs.
  • Ensure high-quality project delivery on time and within budget, maintaining quality control.
  • Oversee project completion, schedule team meetings, and brief teams on time and quality expectations.
  • Attend weekly account team meetings and drive the agenda.
  • Complete client contact reports with minimal supervision.
  • Execute projects independently, adhering to internal processes.
  • Participate in quality assurance through medical and marketing reviews.
  • Prioritize tasks and ensure quality deliverables meet required standards.
  • Brief stakeholders on involvement and manage multiple accounts effectively.
  • Adapt to changing situations and prioritize urgent client requests.
  • Enter time and submit expenses by set deadlines.

Strategic mindset

  • Understand and internally discuss client strategy and/or objectives
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the global healthcare market and relevant medical communication programs.

Business Development

  • Assist in new business pitches and presentations, including research and scheduling.
  • Identify and develop organic business opportunities with existing clients.

Collaboration and Building Relationships

  • Independently nurture client relationships for long-term benefit and enhance the company’s reputation.
  • Mentor junior team members to maintain high project and account management standards.
  • Provide direction and delegate tasks to junior team members for growth and knowledge transfer.
  • If required, lead on resolving interdepartmental relationship issues and conflicts.

Financial Acumen

  • Correctly use financial tools to keep the team up to date on key financial trackers
  • Develop client budgets, scopes of work and estimates when needed (with minimal revision)
  • Manage client account potential to meet and exceed the annual forecast, working closely with senior team members and the business development team as required

Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant science/communications/marketing subject or 2 years’ previous account management experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a medical communications agency would be highly advantageous
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Demonstrable multitasking ability
