OmniOn Power is seeking an electrical engineer to perform product reliability testing of electronic power supplies and battery backup systems. The engineer will support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Change (EC) processes. This role consists of developing detailed test plans, executing comprehensive electrical and environmental tests, automating test systems, and writing test reports.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop reliability test strategies for electronic power supplies
- Create detailed reliability test plans for various power supply products by collaborating with Designers, Component Engineers, Project Managers, etc.
- Coordinate unit under test (UUT) samples with internal project tracking systems such as QATrax and TL9000 databases
- Identify test equipment and fixtures used to perform testing of electronic power supplies
- Design automated test systems (ATE) to perform electrical verification tests
- Utilize environmental test chambers to apply humidity and thermal stresses
- Provide technicians with detail instructions on test plans and execution
- Create MS Excel and WORD Macros to automate data analysis and report writing
- Review test data and determine product conformance with respect to the Technical Requirements
- Document failures in FRACAS (Failure Reporting Analysis Corrective Action System)
- Assist engineering teams to interpret and duplicate non-conformances
- Create test reports in accordance with internal standards
- Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in electronic test engineering
- Experience with ATE test equipment and programming power supplies, oscilloscopes, digital volt meters, power analyzers, and data logging instruments.
Desired Characteristics
- Ability to interpret technical requirements as they apply to power conversion devices to determine whether documented requirements and standards are met
- Working knowledge of AC and DC sources, electronics loads and thermal chambers
- Experience with Microsoft MACROs, MS Visual Studio and other lab automation software
- Ability to efficiently manage time and coordinate priorities with multiple project teams
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work in United States
- Experience with power supply testing
