Summary: The Project Manager II plays a pivotal role in leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from inception to completion. This role demands a high level of autonomy, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence. The Project Manager II is expected to manage multiple concurrent projects, apply functional expertise, and contribute to process improvements across the PMO. This individual will serve as a mentor to peers and junior team members, while driving strategic execution aligned with organizational goals.

This role is a hybrid role that will work onsite 2 days per week at our Buffalo Grove, IL location. Occasional travel may be required as part of this position.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee strategic product and technology projects for the organization, concentrating on full lifecycle product launches, ensuring effective planning through to GTM launch.
• Lead full lifecycle project management for strategic initiatives, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
• Apply Agile methodologies to ensure iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders to define scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Communicate complex project concepts clearly and effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Identify and resolve project risks and issues using critical thinking and escalation protocols.
• Troubleshoot issues, escalate appropriately, and suggest practical solutions.
• Maintain project documentation, status reports, and stakeholder communications.
• Facilitate lessons learned and ensure clean handoff to operational teams post-project.
• Contribute to PMO process enhancements and mentor peers on best practices.
• Support organizational change management efforts and help teams adapt to new processes and tools.


Experience & Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience required; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., PMP, CSM, SAFe) strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of project management experience preferred with at least 2 years driving initiatives of significant scope and impact, or proven ability to apply core competencies such as strategic planning, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Demonstrated success managing enterprise-level projects in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
• Technical and product project management required.
• Experience in the payments, fintech, or disbursements industry strongly preferred.


Qualifications:
• Able to complete a mix of routine and non-routine tasks, managing time and prioritization with minimal supervision.
• Proven understanding of standard processes in the product lifecycle methodology and project management principles.
• Critical thinking skills to identify and solve basic problems independently and ability to escalate challenges to the appropriate contacts.

The base salary range for this position is between $76,590 to $94,500 with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, business needs, and market demand.
