About the Role

This role ensures we strengthen relations with and build champions with low - mid level stakeholders at the district level and local government level, support One Acre Fund expansion, and ensure all One Acre Fund operations are compliant at the district level. Supported by the Government Relations Specialist to execute stakeholder engagement plans; repayment support - primarily responsible for execution. Responsible for level one troubleshooting and supported by management to more complex bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Management and Network Development

  • Support stakeholder management and network development with low to mid-level stakeholders at the district and local government level
  • Build and disseminate the relevant communication materials to maintain relationships with all stakeholders at the district level
  • Facilitate the relevant meetings to build fluency & maintain relationships with peers, and internal and external stakeholders in the district 
  • Train and share knowledge with frontline staff on maintaining relationships with local government and mitigating and managing risks in operations.
  • Support or lead in partnership administration by building the OAF’s brand in as a growing rural employer and an impact driver for smallholder farmers

Compliance, regulatory monitoring and Risk management 

  • Support the identification of new legislation, regulations, or policies that are program imperative on OAF business units at the local government level
  • Support systems to track and manage compliance risk and provide quality assurance within country teams
  • Support program compliance of OAF Zambia by ensuring all licenses, permits and renewals required for our operations in the current and new district(s) are secured
  • Conduct political economy analysis on expansion districts and areas of operation

Project management & Report Writing 

  • Execute projects assigned by manager to de-risk the country program against any perceived risk
  • Support drafting and execution of power mapping exercises on key issues affecting our operations
  • Support direct execution of OAF work in up to 2 districts
  • Provide support in the compilation of quarterly and department level reports
