📍This position will be located at our Corporate Office: 2355 W Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027
The Director Core Banking & Automation plans, organizes, and manages staff and overall operations that facilitate the stable operation of the organization's core banking and related system operations as well as automating manual tasks related to all systems. This includes maintaining, supporting, automating, and optimizing core banking and related systems initiatives. In collaboration with external vendors, system experts, and information security experts, the Director Core Banking & Automation schedules and directs activities to implement business changes related to the core banking software and service problems in a timely and accurate manner. The role is accountable for the design, development, execution, support, maintenance, and performance of core banking system and automation initiatives.
Essential Functions
- Directly supervises Core Banking & Automation associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; managing performance; rewarding and coaching associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Acts as primary contact for core banking related enhancements requests; working with infrastructure, analytics, Information Security & Application support for implementation after approval through CAB (Change Advisory Board).
- Ensures high level of uptime and availability by working with infrastructure, application support, and engineering teams.
- Provides effective leadership to the core banking systems team, ensuring competency development, succession planning, and on-going performance management.
- Researches all aspects of core banking related enhancements, applications, and connectivity, while working closely with the infrastructure, information security, and engineering teams for secure and timely implementation.
- Acts as primary contact for core related jobs and automation process.
- Manages and sets priorities for maintenance and development of core banking, automation, and other related systems.
- Participates in Core Banking & Automation Service Agreements with vendors, budget, and supplier contracts.
- Provides leadership and management oversight for the Core Banking & Automation operations to ensure projects, problems, service requests, and escalations are dealt with according to a defined set of policies, processes, procedures, and service level agreement (SLAs).
- Responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the Core Banking Technology & Automation Applications (systems, people, policy, controls, and procedures) with regard to protection against exposure to and impact of risks associated with data loss, corruption, and/or unauthorized access.
- Reports on core banking automation status, quality, operations, and system performance to executive management, establishing and managing to key performance indicators (KPIs). Tracks all efficiency enhancements in FTE hours as ongoing cost avoidance and return on investment (ROI) measurements.
- Implements mechanisms to monitor, manage, and provide progress.
- Fosters an atmosphere of collaboration with associates inside and outside IT. Promotes automation within the organization and leads strategy discussions with peers across the organization.
- Collaborates with managers and business owners on project/product development.
- Accountable for the on-time and to-quality delivery of projects.
- Creates, implements, and maintains a continuous improvement plan.
What You Bring 🎯
- High School Diploma Required
- Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
- 5 to 8 years of similar or related experience. Minimum of five (5) years of progressive management experience in Information Technology (IT) required.
- Knowledge and understanding of credit union/banking operations required.
- Experience with Robotics Process Automation preferred.
- Experience with local and wide area networks (LANs, WANs), computer hardware and software, data communications, network planning analysis, and vendor evaluations preferred.
- Experience managing and evolving a legacy enterprise product.
- Experience with FISERV DNA, Lumin/Zelle, OnBase and/or other core banking products.
- Knowledgeable in Atomic and other related automation products.
- Knowledgeable in Oracle and SQL databases structures.

- Target hiring range $111,801.86 - $139,752.33 (Depending on experience and prior to any incentives this position is eligible for)
