ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The ONE Campaign is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Events & Partnerships Coordinator to plan and execute events on behalf of ONE's North America Advocacy team. This role sits at the center of the team, working across policy, advocacy, communications, government relations, and executive teams in both the United States and Canada to deliver events that advance ONE's mission — from high-level convenings with policymakers and partners to donor cultivation events .The ideal candidate brings roughly three years of event planning experience, thrives on logistics and details, and enjoys collaborating with colleagues across a fast-paced, mission-driven organization.
You’ll report to the Senior Coordinator for North America and work closely with the North America Advocacy Team. This role can be based in the Washington, DC office on a hybrid schedule, or from Ottawa, Canada on a remote basis. IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL
- Help to conceptualize and coordinate events across the full North America Advocacy team, including its Advocacy, US & Canada Government Relations, Policy, and Communications teams.
- Plan and execute a full slate of North America Advocacy events — including convenings, panels and roundtables, receptions, donor events, staff retreats, and conference activations — from concept through post-event wrap-up. Serve as the central point of contact for event logistics, coordinating across the North America Advocacy team to align on goals, guest lists, timelines, and messaging for each event.
- Manage all event logistics, including venue selection and contracting, vendor and catering coordination, budgeting, run-of-show development, travel and accommodations for VIP guests, and on-site production.
- Oversee on-site event execution, staffing, and troubleshooting to ensure events run smoothly and reflect well on the organization, including invitation lists, RSVP tracking, and guest communications
- Build and maintain event budgets and timelines, tracking spend against budget and flagging risks or opportunities for savings.
- Assist with partnership development by conducting vetting, research, and tracking opportunities.
- Support outreach to partners, creative collaborators, and key stakeholders.
- Draft and send communications to stakeholders to ensure consistent engagement.
- Help manage stakeholder databases and tracking tools.
- Assist with other administrative and cross-team projects as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING TO ONE
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of professional experience in event planning, coordination, or hospitality; experience at a nonprofit, advocacy organization, or in politics/government is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events and projects simultaneously, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams, departments, and seniority levels.
- Comfort working with vendors, venues, and external partners, including negotiating contracts and managing logistics.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency with event management, CRM, or registration tools (e.g., Cvent, Eventbrite, Salesforce) and standard office software.
- Knowledge and understanding of effective project management
- Proactive, problem-solving attitude and excellent organizational skills
- Flexibility to travel and to work some evenings or weekends around event schedules.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada is required
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Fluency in English required. Proficiency in other languages such as French and German is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role can be based in Washington, DC or Ottawa, Canada. The Washington, DC office has a hybrid attendance of 3 days per week in the office. The Ottawa, Canada office is remote with employees working within the Ottawa-metro area to accommodate regular in-person meetings. Team schedules and business needs may dictate the specific days/times you need to be in the office. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: ONE offers competitive compensation and an exceptional benefits package along with the opportunity to contribute to worldwide causes impacting those most in need. The salary range for this role is $45,000 - $65,000.
